If your knowledge and taste is so superior to all the leyman who say they like good music it. prove it. share a band...a thought...a link....a download...a review...a reason why something you like is so genius.

I'll be the first to admit I am a music snob and that I tend to cast a suspicious eye on those who take no real passion in music.

we all know when that person types in that box on myspace that they like all types of music they really don't give a flying fuck about any type of music at all...

so let's hear it snobs... :nana:

This kid I work with loves the murphy's.....

too loud and shouty for me...I like a little more substance...just sayin'

Magic Numbers, Iron & Wine, the Be Good Tanyas, A.C. Newman, Fancey, New Pornographers. Oh - and go listen to Stevie Wonder ('65-'79) and Aretha Franklin - they aren't new or snob worthy, but better than just about anything new or snob worthy.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under Jesús López-Cobos were at the top of their game.

I will listen to anything Renée Fleming sings.

The Emerson String Quartet's latest release has some serious problems.

Iron & Wine, .

Iron and Wine actually made me go buy a pistol. I was to lazy to buy bullets. But I actually wanted to kill myself listening to their stuff. just sayin'

That's the old stuff - his new EP with Calexico is a bit more up.

I am listening to Gaspar Cassado's Suite for Cello Solo.

I am an extreme music snob.

If it came out any time after 1985 then it sucks. Period. And damn near all of it after 1980. Music died with Lennon. It almost died with Buddy Holly but it was saved by some pie or a levee or something.
Yes I'm being stupid. Got a problem with that?

what kind of stuff?

Little bit of the Strokes - but way less pretentious, way more melodic, and with far less over-adulation. Think that with a touch of keyboards thrown in.

Her latest release is actually a big snore. It's acceptable if one doesn't know much opera, but they're all standards and she doesn't bring anything new to them. And her style with Amazing Grace....eh.

It made me appreciate her Handel more (but I am a major Age of Enlightenment fan).

Oh come on! The American Pie joke wasn't all that bad. Coulda been worse.

Why is it when I see Rene Fleming I can't help but actually see Flaming Lips....?
