Okay, now that I've opened up the single identity thread, I thought it a good idea to open up a multiple identity thread.

For those who have multiple identities, please post all of your identities below here. Please feel free to post them all. I've enlarged this thread to include all 60,000 of you.

You must understand the importance of this thread. I need to know who I am corresponding with when I take the time to write to someone only to find out that I'm writing to someone else using another identity. Yeah, I know, it gets real confusing.

So, if you don't mind, please list your main identity below with all of your other identities so that I can distinguish who the Hell you are.

Thanks so much,

Freddie

I've posted on the other thread.

Jeanne D'Artois is an alt for writing stories from another perspective. Fag-Ash Lil is a character in one of Jeanne's stories. Unatit I have another alt as well.

None of my alts say anything serious and don't participate in political threads unless I've forgotten to change my sign-in.

Jeanne and Og acknowledge each other's existence in their signatures. Fag-Ash Lil only writes for ciggies. The other alt is still a virgin pending posting stories that don't fit my style as Og or Jeanne.

Og (et al)

Everybody's missing the point of these threads, which is for us all to admit that we're actually all one person

I have one alt to post different types of stories than I do as Dark. It's plainly noted in my sig, and "Les" has all of one ( maybe two ) posts, dealing with a story. I did some reading and commenting while logged in as Les, adding Les/Dark to the comments unless I forgot.

Maybe all of you are really me, exhibiting a split personality? You may know otherwise (or think you do), but how can I?

It is confusing

All I'm trying to accomplish here is to level the playing field a bit. I have no idea who is who.

It took me a while to realize that many lurkers have multiple identities. I'd be writing to one person talking about another person not realizing that I was writing to the same person.

What the Hell?

It is confusing.

That happens all over the internet.

Even those with one identity are usually posting under an assumed name. My real name isn't Og.

You've obviously been hanging out with the Wrong Sort. ;)

But really, some people have alts for personal reasons that have nothing to do with the other members of the forum. I know of one person whose primary handle gets stalked by a member of hir social crowd for instance. So, when this person wants to talk about something that s/he doesn't want to get around, s/he uses an alt. To publicly link those two handles would render the scheme non-functional.

And of course the people who have alts for malicious reasons aren't going to tell. Either people will let you know, or not. It's the way of the interwebs.

Indeed. So, bearing that in mind and the fact you may not know with whom your are conversing...

Let's keep this party polite...

I'm in a very singingy mood today...

You should go to Chicago and meet the Litsters. All one of them.

I'm sure I've done the same thing. I'm clueless as to who is who else, except those that have their alts openly in their sigs (and even then I sometimes forget).

Then there's the problem of remembering which person is paired with which. I regularly screw that one up.

So, I get to look like an idiot occasionally to those in the know. *shrug* What's new?

Boston is way better than Chicago.

Chicago to meet the Liters?

I think I'd rather not know what they look like in person. It would ruin my image.

Besides, people look so much better in cyber space. It's like that song written by Brad Paisley, I look better online.
