Sadly, the last time I did post something here, a vile rat got me banned, so not going down that path again.

Oh, I think you can point the finger at the man in the mirror there. Being an unrepentant, combative asshole is what got you banned, even if it took someone else calling you on it before the mods lowered the boom.

I had people flip out about a non-consent scene once. It was part of a larger story and was meant to establish a villain. In their defense, I should have put a warning. So, that was on me. Lesson learned. It can be a very touchy subject, even in fantasy, and even if it's portrayed as a truly evil act. But to actually seek it out and then get mad when you find it? Ridiculous.

Being offended and stating their righteous outrage is a form of entertainment for these sad, pathetic creatures who create nothing of their own and validate themselves by condemning others.

I had this happen on one of my stories. Guy commented he had to stop reading when I injected the 'baby crap'. Said he gave me 3/5 stars. That's fine, move along sir.
Then 8 months later he leaves another comment, wondering why he came back to read it a second time, and reconfirming his earlier comment was still valid. He then complained that my story was obviously written to cater to the pregnancy fetish. Uh, yeah. Almost all of my stories do, cause I find it hot. I know he's read them, cause he's commented on others!

Maybe he'll come back in a few months and complain again after rereading it for a third time.

I don't think it's recreational with many of them. I think they truly believe they are on a sacred mission to stomp out those things they see as vile. It appears all the time here. "That's not my kink so it's bad! I gotta do something about it!" Keyboard warriors tilting at pixilated windmills.

I think it’s great I get this much attention. It shows my writing really makes people feel something. They’re so ashamed of how the stories make them feel that they attack them over and over.

This happens with most of my stories (including the specific user you reference). I think it is substantially driven by the genre (Loving Wives). Most of it happens in the first week or so along with all the "1" bombers then the comments even out and the ratings drift upward.

The silly thing is that, notwithstanding what anyone might think about which stories should be in which categories, the title and tags on my stories make it abundantly clear what the subject matter is. Yet those people primarily criticize the subject matter is as opposed to writing style or character development or whatever. It is like reading all of Stephen King's books and slagging each and every one because you don't like horror.

As you said, if it gets people that worked up then it is making them feel something. I take that as a compliment.

If we take the view that reader comments are about the way that reader feels after reading your writing, rather than about the quality of your writing, then repeated comments become more of an interesting opportunity for social observation. I've seen comments before that show how the reader has evolved in their views and responses (26th included), and I appreciate their honesty although not always the message. It's the ridiculous, pretentious ones (hello Stacnash!) that really stir me up.

Almost all my stories were above 4.5 some hall of famers for years. This ‘group’ just started attacking them recently. It’s ok. I have well over 10,000 followers. Out of over 100,000 authors I am the 12th most followed author on the site. I write jack off stories not literature.

So, I write what I enjoy, I know others enjoy it too.

This type of group has come and gone over the years and aren't as special as they think they are.

When there's a cabal going around pulling shit like this its important authors maintain confidence in themselves and not sweat bad votes or negative comments from a self-important peanut gallery.

Writers create; these snots want to destroy because they don't have the ability to create anything except more disdain for their kind.

Interesting to me. I haven’t written for almost 2 years. These attacks just started amping up. Like I said. They’ve been going back and rereading them.

It's your posts here in the AH that's drawing attention to you.

There are authors here or lurkers who read these AH posts. And if you've contradicted their narrow-minded opinions, they'll anonymously attack your stories.

There are the nay-sayers here who will pipe in that "You have no proof of that!" But it's happened to me at least twice, and to at least two other authors here who have PMed me about it, that shortly after a contentious debate here in the AH multiple stories in our libraries have been 1-bombed with hours. And some of those are stories which were posted YEARS ago, all 1-bombed within an hour or two after an argument in the AH.

That's so unlikely that a random reader decided to do it, that it's not a coincidence. We have a troll infection in the AH.

EDIT: So, be warned, that even "liking" this post might mark you and attract a troll!
