:D Reminds me of my mother's favorite saying when I was growing up:

"It's just as easy to marry a rich man as it is a poor man.'

Too bad I didn't listen.

As I said in a story I wrote but haven't posted:

“Appearances,” my Mother once explained, “are why some people are poor.”

I would be offened by that if I could see through the holes in my bag properly.

I love the expression: "What's that got to do with the price of fish?"

Always makes me laugh. :D

I worked with a girl who read things wrong and refused to correct herself.
We got a new computer in called a Compudyne, she called it the concubine.

Perhaps the issue never came up, but what did she call a concubine?

Another good word: Nyah.

Ok had to look it up as I was unsure of the meaning myself this was the only spelling I found.

Moor·ish ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mrsh)
adj.
1. Of or relating to the Moors or their culture.

2. Of, relating to, or being a style of Spanish architecture of the 8th to the 16th century, characterized by the horseshoe arch and ornate decoration.

Hi Dranoel,

It's funny, I always think of the word "Moorish" (as your definition describes there) when I hear the word morish/more-ish. It is actually a completely different (non) word.

I know what it means, in context, it's just a hard one to define. That's why I used the chocolate quote. It kind of means: when we eat something, or indulge in something, and it leaves us wanting more of the same thing. :)

Thanks, Erotic Tale! I was pretty chuffed about my story, and didn't even realise, until Lauren PM'd me. :D

Confuzzled is a good one, and makes me think of bamboozled. Hmmm, I have a feeling that might actually be a word. I'm confuzzled now. ;)

I'm not altogether sure that there isn't a linkage between Moorish and More-ish.

My Grandmother used "Moorish" in a combination of the two meanings -- "Rich, elegant and almost sinfully beautiful" -- Moorish being slightly less complex than Baroque or Gothic, and also More-ish in the sense of wanting more.

My grandmother also used "Heathenish" for things that were "too pleasureable for a good christian to rightfully enjoy."

A word that my family uses a lot is "Spendy" to mean "more expensive than it should be."
