how concerned are you about this? The media reports that overwhelming it affects the male gay/bi community, but not JUST this group, but the male gay/bi group that engages in “risky” behavior, i.e., going to sex clubs, anonymous sex, glory holes, etc. I’m traveling soon and like to go to some glory holes, and a certain gay/bi sex club I’ve been to before and really dig. Now, I’m thinking, forget it, all bets are off. Thoughts?

Risky behaviour is not limited to LGB folks and, like Aids, everyone should be aware of it because everyone is at risk, assuming you were not old enough to have had a smallpox vaccination.
If you know in the heat of the moment that you have acted rashly in the past ( who hasn't? ) then be guided by your own good sense. We can't wrap ourselves in cotton wool but neither can we jay-walk with closed eyes. Check the medical advice of the country your travelling to, times it by a factor of 5 and go from there. Not all countries have the means or will to maintain meaningful data.

Good answer….and the articles I’ve been reading have pretty much said that, about risky behavior, and that indeed, it’s the anonymous sex and sex-club kind of thing and not the LGB folk that is spreading it….

If you trust the CDC...99.1% of all cases are Gay men. You can gloss it over as much as you want, and it is true. If you are engaging in risky sexual behavior... you chance of an STD increase 10-fold. The fact remains. One community is affected more than everyone else. If you're a bi married male... and you're still catting around with men, and you infect your wife...you are to blame

All the more reason to be honest with your doctor and get the vaccine for it. Monkeypox is on the decline and gay bars and the like organizing vaccine drives is a big reason why.

I haven't been with other men for several years and thought I would like to find somebody again. I didn't play fast and loose (very much) before but I did take some chances. I feel like the odds are not in my favor at all now with all the crud that is going around. I signed up on Squirt as recommended in some of the messages here. I have found a lot of spam and a lot of guys who do it with anybody they find available. No thanks. So many 'profiles' there virtually scream *desperate*.

Once upon a time I was in the military and I was vaccinated for everything on the planet (at that time) including the smallpox. Maybe I could get away with it but as was mentioned..I don't want to bring something like that home to my wife and family. Apparently sexual contact is not the only way to transmit the new pox. Everybody please be careful.
