Ya know, if I were you...I'd ask some of the very very good drawers we have here at LIT. Like Shingen for example. boom

And ya know, if you could do a celtic accent...I'd be amazed. :)

I will definately have a look over there. :) Thanks for the recommendation.

And I used to be fairly good with a celtic accent... I worked at the Michigan Renaissance Festival for years (that's where the celtic knotwork for the tat is coming into play) but I've gotten out of practice....

I'm Impressed. I honestly think that the celtic accent is the sexiest accent out there. Australian is the coolest of course, lol.
And you're welcome. I even may search the net for a celtic knotwork if you want.

Ya, those accents are sexy(if I were a female, lol) which is why I would like to live there one day. I even have an aunt who lives there.

Google search results

A pretty sweet website

The 2nd website has some very very awesome artwork that might be suitable. Not all of it is in the Celtic section either.

nice tatoo. yeah listen to evils, from whta I hear tatoos are a pain in the arse to get rid of if ya decide you dont like it later. Plus they require special care for the first few weeks after you get it too or the colors fade. :)

Very nice Tat :) I think they are amazing... it's just artwork at its finest. There are some I've seen and I think "what the hell was that person thinking?" but to each his own. Mine has a LOT of meaning behind it... I could go on about it if you guys really want me to. I've been thinking about what I want for years, so trust me when I say that I haven't taken the idea lightly.

dont mind one bit. We are all friends here. I think your idea for the celtic knot with a sun in it sounds very pretty. I just have one request.... if and when you do get it and you are still around... would you mind taking a picture of it for me?

would love to see how it turned out :)

History behind my tattoo (idea)

The celtic knotwork is symbolic of the Renaissance Festival. I spent a LOT of time in my youth there, having gone every year since I was 4. I finally got a job there when I was 14. This past fall was the first time I haven't gone since I was 4, since I moved to VT a few weeks before it opened. I made a lot of really good friends there and I strengthened some bonds with some existing friends. But it also opened up my eyes and my mind to a whole new culture. I will never forget all the things I learned there, and it's impossible to restate in anyway the effects that place had on me.

When I was 16 I met this guy there.. Jay. We became really good friends but it was pretty obvious right from the beginning that there was something else there. However, he had a girlfriend. He never failed to let me know he thought I was amazing though.

Around February I got back in touch with Jay.. we talked for a long time and I found out he and his psycho girlfriend broke up. :D So I invited him over for Valentine's day and asked him out.... we dated for a year. He was my first serious boyfriend and a lot of other firsts. I lost my virginity to him as well. But that wasn't what I remember him most for...

Not only is Jay the only guy I've ever loved, ever given myself and all my trust completely to, but he was the one that taught me I was beautiful. You have to understand I grew up with the nickname Fatty and I took a lot of shit for having bad acne, glasses, a jaw expander and braces, and bad fashion sense. I was smart too (apparently that's not cool in Middle School). Jay was from another school, he was a year older, and he was HOT (still is.. hehe). He was the Captain of the wrestling team, in a band, and was just amazing. Utterly amazing.

So the fact that this guy took notice of ME was a huge boost for my ego. He taught me not to be ashamed of myself, ever. He taught me to look inside at the person rather than look in the mirror, although he reassured me that the mirror image was just as spectacular as the inside version. He gave me the self confidence I never had.

Jay and I also had a thing for sunsets. They're gorgeous. I've never seen a sunset that isn't beautiful.... it's just not possible. We would always watch the sunset together... send each other pictures of sunsets in emails...

Sooooo basically, the sunset resembles not only my undying love and gratitude to Jay for everything he did for me, but it's also a reminder that no matter how I feel or look, I'm always beautiful. The celtic knotwork is the neverending memories of the friendships I've had, will have, and the ones I still do have.

Re: History behind my tattoo (idea)

Awwww Leah, your story made this guy shed a few tears , so sweet.. Thanks for sharing it.

I am really glad that you had that kind of man for your first love and first "time" that is something to be cherished forever. Also great that he helped to boost your self esteem etc. or else we might never have been graced with the joy of meeting you here.

I went thru a lot of same stuff as you in middle school and even high school too. Well similar at least, the kinda of guy that is the brainy nerd with no friends LOL. Luckily I too met someone special for my first love, and she helped me in the same way that your guy helped you..

It is always great to have someone like that in your life and it is very good to hear that you have such fond memories.. you will remember that till the end of your days for sure :D

heh...

<------- sensitive guy here.. I too have my emotional moments. ;)
