MN Lit Getogether, Spring 2003

Hey guys.....as promised, here's the MN Lit getogether thread. I think the first thing we need to do is set a date before we pick a place or anything.

As far as I'm concerned, any date after the 15th is wonderful, but I think that most people who have full-time jobs would prefer that we do this on either Friday or Saturday night. Definitely tell me if I'm wrong

If we are doing this in May, and on Friday or Saturday night, it's either the 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th, or 31st. I've already been told that someone can't do the 23rd, so I think it would be best if it was one of the other days.

So, what do you guys say? Maybe we should vote or something? Or maybe just see if anyone can't do any of the other days?

Any people who haven't seen talk of this on the MN threads, if you would like to come, I'm taking an informal poll.....I would like A/S/L on everyone interested so we know what to expect.

Ahhhhhh, guys, I know there are more of you.....just from the MN Index thread even. I need to know what dates are good for you guys, so we can get started on planning this......

After we get a date set, I think we should probably get a definite count again of who is coming.....so even if you have no opinion on the date, keep an eye out and tell me that you definitely can/can't come.

I've subscribed to the thread to keep track of things, but I don't know if I'll be able to join in. We have assorted ongoing commitments that might make it impossible for us to come even if my wife were interested, and she's out of the house right now so I can't ask her if she's interested.

However...

I'm 41/M/South MPLS
My wife is 36, and anyone who can't figure out her other two stats from mine is probably not going to be someone we'll want to hang with anyway...

I've been to events like this before, where people meet online and then decide to do the same in RL, once for a Loreena McKennitt mailing list and once for Askisadora. A good time is generally had by all, and I made a lifelong friend from one of them.

Well any friday and saturday night meeting will work out well for me... So just keep me posted on the date. and i will show up for it....

My wife is cool with the idea, if we can make it. I can say right off that the first, third and fifth Saturdays of any given month are baaaaad for her. As for Fridays or other Saturdays, we'll have to check and get back to y'all.

But if we can do it, I think it would be fun.

The 18th is not very good for me....just so you know, if you were looking at sundays. Other than that, I'm pretty open. Weekend, weekday, 2 am, 2 pm....whenever. I'm flexible.
Any idea yet of what to do? Lunch? Dinner? A big ol' picnic in the park?...?

So far, do you guys think the 30th sounds good? I've had people say they can't make it on the 23rd and the 31st.....and I think that the last weekend in May gives people the most time to fit it into their schedules.

So the 30th isn't a definite date....but does anyone have any objections to it? We sort of need to decide soon, so please post something if you can't make it the 30th.

Hello! Sorry it took so long to post here. (25/F/north of Mpls)

I'm still interested. For dates, though, it's kind of hit and miss right now. But I definitely won't be around the very last weekend of May. I'm off to visit my Boston friends. Keep me informed, though, and I'll do my best!

The First week of June 6, 7 would work out for me... that wouldn't be a problem... just keep it up dated on where we are all going be meeting... ~At the mall~ or some place where everyone knows how to get too.... ok....

This will be whatever we make it. In my limited experience with Lit meetings, it gets loud and fun....the time I went, someone brought us all small presents from the local sex shop, which was sorta cool....there's nothing wrong with a little shock value, but the purpose of the meeting shouldn't just be to scare people either. I have a feeling it will be a good hybrid

One quick rant....this isn't a response to anything I've heard, I just want to make sure that no one is confused.

For any of you who may have misconceptions about this meeting, the purpose of it is NOT to find people to hook up with. Of course, things happen, as is always the case with a group of open people who may or may not have been drinking a bit.....but under no circumstances should anyone assume that everyone there is looking to hook up.

To the men....only because this happened the last time i went to a Lit meeting, not because I think that any of you would do this....the women that come are there because they are open-minded, free about sharing different aspects of their sexuality, and not shy about being a part of this site. They do NOT come to a Lit meeting because they are easy sluts, nor do they come because they want to feel degraded by the men. We all come to have a good time and enjoy each other's company and to be able to relax in a group of people with similar passions. Please don't ruin the atmosphere by being rude to anyone because you have misconceptions about who they are or what they are like. Really, this goes for the women too, please be respectful to everyone that is there that night.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

I'm really glad we have so many people interested in this meeting. It should be an awesome time, and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys I hope I haven't scared you off by what I just said, I just want to make things clear for everyone to avoid anyone acting improperly, because I want the night to be the best it can be for everyone.

I probably won't make this gathering but if anyone is interested in a day at the beach thing I am open to that. I look awful in a swimsuit but the idea is a fun-filled day at the beach with our kids/spouses/friends. A day of swimming, grilling and having tons of fun. I've done a few of these before and they are tons of fun.
