I never did quite figure out what GURPS was supposed to be. And I don't mean the acronym. I guess I didn't start playing those RPGs early enough or something.

It's a unified RP system for any background you can come up with, as opposed to crappy ones like D&D that only (kind of) work for the specific background they decided you should play.

*giggles* I love that series. Though I've only seen the first... three episodes, I think. But it looks pretty.

Awesome - haven't been in German class for a year now.
It's amazing how that stuff resurfaces in our brains sometimes. ;) I just had my first German conversation last night for the first time in... two or three years now. And then I couldn't get my brain to switch back into English. I kept using German grammar, which just doesn't always sound right. ;)

Yes, I have already my laundry done, thank you for asking.

Heh. It's a great series, the character development is second to none, the animation is gorgeous, and it's possibly the best anime ever made, but only if you're into stuff written by a raving lunatic -- the head writer and director apparently had a major nervous breakdown toward the end of filming. It gets WEIRD toward the end, and has some of the most intense gore I've ever seen (worse than Ninja Scroll). The last tape (#13, episodes 25 and 26) were kind of a "fuck you" from Gainax (the writers and directors) to ADV (the publisher and producer) because ADV decided against giving them the budget they really needed to make the series end properly, but also wouldn't let them out of the contract. So they slapped together a couple of episodes to "finish" it off, and went to Manga Corps to do the real ending as a pair of movies. Oh, if you're even slightly religious I'd skip it too. The last several episodes and the movies are downright blasphemous.

LMAO.....I do that too! Come out of German, and I can't speak right in other classes.

On one of my last weekends in Boston I was riding the T back from the city......and heard a group of people speaking in German. I was surprised to find out I could understand most of their conversation :p

It's usually much easier to understand than to write or speak. That is, when you've learned it in a school-type of setting.
