I think we all do... kids don't necessarily get it though... although my kids like to jump nude on the trampoline...

I am exercising my right to be a geek, and writing descriptions of rooms for an online RPG. Oh, and playing Snood. And Freecell.

Yeah, most people think it died a few years ago, and d2o managed to suck up the loser D&D player dweeb demographic. Sucks bigtime since GURPS is the far better system. But hey, that's what happens when WIzards of the Coast buys out D&D and markets it to the extent they have. Some people will always take marketing over substance.

gurps is a more role-playing system. d&d is more a dice game. easier to play for alot of people. i am ok with d&d but i like the more open games myself. if i am not mistaken i still have a gurps main book and a few add on books around. i really wish i could find a warhammer fantasy game going on.

I have like 100 of the GURPS books, including the extra-wifty hardcover 3rd edition revised basic book.

And yeah, you hit it right on the head -- D&D and d20 (same bloody rules, but d20 is making a feeble attempt at universality) are just badly-done campaignable wargames masquerading as RPGs. They're about as suited to real RPing as Diablo II is. And let's not forget that in d20 "modern" you can blow off a hit from a .50BMG as a flesh wound, even unarmored...
