Missing teeth...who's got 'em and why?

You know that root canal I posted about a week or so ago? It would seem the tooth is too far gone to save, and I need to have it pulled. I'm feeling really shitty about that right now, I think I'm WAY to young to be losing a tooth, but I might feel better if I actually knew I wasn't alone.

So, who's missing teeth? How many and what was the reason?

I'm missing a front lower tooth...have a lovely cap in it's place from a swing-set accident as a child. I was pushing a friend on the swing and she leaned back and hit me in the chin with her head...my teeth clashed together and the front half broke off basically killing the tooth. You'd never know, the dentist did a beautiful job.

Other than that...just my wisdom teeth...no room at the inn. Don't feel bad, it happens. Have a moment of silence for your departing toofie! Hmm...do you get .50 cents for a missing tooth from the tooth fairy? I know you get .25 cents for losing a baby tooth.

Actually, I can understand how you are feeling Cirrus. A couple of years ago, I had to have a tooth pulled for the same reason. Unfortunately, a lack of dental insurance coupled with possibly heredity has led to a couple of root canals. The tooth that was pulled, was exactly as you say and it bothered me to no end.

I always thought people with teeth pulled were people who didn't take care of themselves. I tried and was frustrated and sad with the results. The guilty party was a molar.

I have a new fake front tooth due to an industrial accident. Okay, so I was moonlighting as a janitor/security person and whacked myself in the face with a mop handle. It was a cartoon-like accident, I highly recommend it if you want to looking like a mother fucking idiot in front of gawd and everybody.

On a side note, I do know the full process of turning colored plastic powder into playground equipment. It's very hot, not sexually, physically, like way too hot for me. I saw it from the ground while two people, one of whom wore dentures, searched for the missing part of my incisor. The other was just excited about the prospect of bending over and posing for the guys who were actually working. Not that she needed to, she was known for the $20 bucks for 20 minutes special. Yes, they were actually dumb enough to stand in line for it. She actually made 24.25 after you calculated wages, well, maybe about 23.50 after taxes, social security, and stock options.

my two top front teeth aren't really mine. Well I paid for them, so technically I guess they are, but they're a partial for the teeth I lost playing hockey a few years ago. Yes a Latino playing hockey, imagine that. It hurt like hell having what was left drilled out.

I actually played for 10 years with some buddies of mine, goalie of all things. Well one of my friends came barreling into me, and knocked me down, I didn't think anything of it when my mask hit my mouth, until later when someone hit a very hard shot, and hit the same area, knocking my mask back into me, and me out cold.

I got a concussion, and lost the two teeth. I didn't know I had a concussion until 3 days later when I got violently ill at work, and blacked out. 10 hours later I'm in the hospital having a spinal tap. Went home for the weekend to rest, and the pain was still there, and the 3 days later went back and another doctor gave me a spinal tap AGAIN, to fix what the first one screwed up. Thank God for insurance, dental and other medical.

Root canal done on one of the top ones.........got a nice fake one in it's place. And a few caps, my teeth have always been rather strange. They are soft and break easy, I've always had trouble with them, not from cavities or anything just from them being soft. Not too mnetion they are alot smaller then most peoples, I think I still have some baby teeth in my bottom front roll. One of my nick names in high school was baby teeth because of how small my teeth were. God I hated that name LOL!

Well, it's good to know I'm not alone, but the problem is what's wrong with my tooth is something that just happened. I swear, I have the worst luck. For no reason known to god or anyone the root started absorbing itself. I have OK teeth otherwise, a few fillings, but most people have those. If it had happened because of an accident or something I wouldn't feel so bad.

But I have the same feeling...like people who lose teeth don't take care of themselves. I'm not perfect, but I brush 3 times a day and floss semi-regularly. It couldn't have happened at a worse time, either. I have "dental insurace", if you want to count something that only pays 10% for treatment insurance.

Oh well, nothing I can do about it. If I ignore it, it'll only get worse. I don't know why I'm so upset about it...it just doesn't seem fair, I guess.

I was only 3/4 wise and now I'm zilch!

I had oral surgery last week to extract my 3 wisdom teeth and repair(hopefully)some nerve damage. Does that count? Or are we talking about teeth we actually need?

my right front lower tooth has a huge chip missing but now it has a cap on it and no one can tell unless I tell them. I swear the tooth grew in that way b/c I can't remember any trauma that would have caused this. Before I had it fixed most people didn't know anyway since my lower teeth don't show all that much.

Four years ago had a root canal done to the tooth just to the left of the front one.

Ex showed up at 2am while I was leaving for work and professed his undying love for me. He missed me and his son madly and could not live without us. It was my 30th birthday and he was trying to show how much he loved me by remembering.

I asked him to leave because I had to get to work and I didn't want him there with the kids sleeping and the babysitter afraid of him.

So BAMMMMM!!!! Knocked my front tooth right out.

But he loves me! That was how he proved it, cuz I made him so mad that he couldn't help himself.
