This is a follow-on to the "Men Whose Wives have No Sex Drive" thread.

Assuming you believe what she says, based on surveys and diaries, one in ten women have a sex drive similar to most men. And there is some biological programming that causes a woman's sex drive to decrease at a point that happens to correspond to average marriage/childbearing age range. Ms. Arndt's solution is for otherwise unmotivated women to "just do it" as if sex with someone who is doing you a favor was the same thing as sex with a partner who desires you. She says it's better than nothing. I disagree.
I'm not an expert on anything but my own situation. I'm not a doctor. But I suspect any 'solution' to this 'problem' will come from pharmacology.
But then how would I get my wife to take such a drug? She doesn't think she has a problem, other than an 'overly horny' husband. She is not particularly interested in sex, so why would she take a drug that would increase that interest? Why would I take a drug to make me more interested in gardening? I wouldn't.
It was an interesting speech. Not sure of the scientific value.
