I realized today that Christmas is about six weeks away.

Now I just gotta figure out where I put the Pepto Bismo.

Is this an inside joke of some type, graceanne? Or are you speaking of some Christmas other than the one which occurs in the States every December 25th? Or, is your calendar flipped to the wrong month, or missing pages? Regardless, it caused me enough concern to check my calendar. By my count, Christmas is 12 weeks or so away, for me ... which is not nearly as bad as it being 6 weeks away, but is still bad enough in my book.

And ... Hanukkah is December 26th this year ... never know though, i've had calendars before where the date for Hanukkah has been incorrect.

GraceAnne which calandar was that. Six weeks! You haven't even had Thanksgiving yet! It is not even six weeks to that.

Oh, thank god. I forgot about November. :embarrassed:

I'm gonna kill betticus. I told him and he agreed and let me get all freaked out.

Gracie, love, he IS a sadist, you know. Have a cookie and stop giving the man ammo.

Yeah, well, I'm a mommy. I'm way more creative than any sadist. I get hospitalized every year around this time. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! And frankly I've got more stress this year!

You know why I won't go home for more than a few days a Christmas time right? You may want to save me a bed....

I'd love to have you, you know that.

Hey I known the feeling, I gotta start tinking about X-mas now and with luck come up with gift ideas for all five people on my list. I know my parents liked the crabs I gave them last year, but I think I need to try a little harder this year.

You only have five people on your list? You are so lucky. I have 10 nieces and nephews, 5 brothers and sister and two sets of parents. K has three brothers and sisters, and another two sets of parents. I have four grandma's, one grandpa. K has his grandma. Then their's my best friend children (2 of them). I also have 17 aunts and uncles (only 7 of which I will see for the holidays), over 30 cousins (also only about 8 of which i'll see for hte holidays). K has six aunts and uncles and three cousins (none of which we'll see for the holidays). I get an ulcer just thinking about it.

http://www.smilies4you.de/content/feiertage/a21.gifUgh, don't mention Christmas, please!! I have both my son and daughter's birthday to get past first.....but hopefully this year will be perfect in that I wuill be in The Netherlands with my son for his birthday, and then fly to Oz to be with my daughter for hers. :D Have no idea what I will give her but think the visit and the fetish photo session we have been talking doing might be some of it. Then while I am there I am hoping to be organised enough to buy everyone there a Christmas present and wrap it, leave it there for Christmas, as well as my granddaughter's birthday present for Christmas Eve, thus save our usual running late in posting them....then come back here and do the shopping for here and organise Christmas. Yuk, I get tired just thinking about it.http://www.smilies4you.de/content/muede/a38.gif

*hugs* That's a lot of people to buy for! wow. See, this is another reason I like the fact that I never have contact with 98% of my family. I don't have to spend money on them!

This may sound horrible, and I'm sorry if it does, but I don't give gifts to my grown up brothers anymore, with the exception of Michael. Beings how I'm a starving student, they're all happy if I manage to remember their kids. And I'm horribly terribly organized, I have almost all of my shopping done already. I don't handle the holiday insanity well at all, it messes with my hyperactivity, so I do as much as possible ahead of time and then I limit the time I spend at home. I find the the chaos to be really stressful. I'd rather spend a few days of quality time than a week or more of stress and end up hating everybody by the end of the week.

Our family made the same arrangement many moons ago...gifts for the children, best wishes for the adults. Annoyingly, my 2 sisters have decided to change it again and have begun buying something which they excuse as they just wanted to, but leads to lots of confusion and discomfort if you are not prepared. I would prefer their goodwill instead of a present, but seems they still have plenty to say behind my back, or criticism to level at me when the mood strikes them.

Gracie, even if you forgot November, what about October? Oct + Dec + end of sept is more than 6 weeks.

I think it's time to get a new calendar. ;)

Well three of my sibs are still kids. Well N is 18, but he's still in highschool, so as far as I'm concerned he's a kid. (And I tell him so all the time. )

Actually I have a good excuse. My blood count is down, and that makes me forgetful and ditzy. Know why? Cause your red blood cells take oxygon everywhere in your body. Including the brain. If you don't have enough red blood cells, then you aren't getting enough oxygon. The result is you get tired and forgetful. (For those who know what I'm talking about my hemoglobin is at 10 right now. :( )

Depends on what you call your mother. My children call me mommy, so it's the long arm of the mommy. :p

Christmas is longer away than 12 weeks. It has to be. On Christmas Eve I'll be 24, which is WAY older than I am, so it can't be that soon yet. I knew it was a mistake to arrange myself to being 23 instead of going on being 22 for another year
