Is it Racism that prevented him from being able to fight in Nevada?

Is it Racism that will likely prevent him from fighting in America ever again?

Is it Racism that made him lose his figihting license in the first place?

Is it Racism that forced him to bite that White dudes ear?

Is it Racism that forced him to bite That other dudes leg?

Or is it plain and simply the man is an animal more than he is a man, and made the wrong choices?

It's not Racism Todd, so it must be choice B.

When are you coming to New York so I can hook you up with a bevy of buxom black babes?:p

Are you sure its not racism? A Canadian News Channel CBC News is really ralling behind the racism factor. Saying if it was a whitey that did what tyson would do he would still be fighting without anyone saying a thing.

As soon as the Canadain dollar climbs back up to 75-80 cents amercian, unless of course I get a donation from some american of american money and plane tickets.

Does Tyson have racist tendencies? Where's the proof?

Tyson was denied license simply because he is too volatile and untrustworthy to provide a clean fight.

Perhaps white fighters with the same problem never make it to Tyson's level, so we never hear about them. Wouldn't that be racism?

Are you calling Evander Holyfield a white guy?

Or Lennox Lewis (a Black guy) and all his minders (also black guys) racist against their own colour?

Every boxing fan knows..."Don't bet on the white guy"....even me.

black guys have been on top in heavyweight bouts for years.... and in sprinting and most other athletic pursuits...

Racism? I dont think so

I don't know anyone from anyone in the sport{?} of boxing.

All I know about that 5 minute excerpt on the CBC News was they were suggesting that the boxing federation{?} was being racist by not allowing Mike to Fight.

Personally I haven't seen the ear biting fight or the leg biting fight to even know if they ever happened.

I like wrestling, cause when its is all said and done you know tis fake and you know for the most part people are not going to be purposely brain damaging themselves by stepping into the ring

The facts:

In recent fights, Tyson has tried to break his opponents arm, bitten some of Evander Holyfield's ear off, punched an opponent after the bell and floored the referee.

In the press conference to publicise the no-go fight with Lennox Lewis Tyson went over to Lewis, Lewis' minders stepped ina dn it all kicked off, neither man landing a blow (but lots of swinging) in the rumble, Tyson bit Lewis' leg

Tyson then directed a torrent of abuse at a reporter who asked him about his rape case... something to the tune of "You're a F***ing faggot, don't F**k with me, you faggot"

The Nevada boxing commission denyed one Mike Tyson a license to box in Nevada (i.e. Las Vegas) after a 3 hour inquiry.

Deal with these facts as you will... but i think in the late 80s Tyson was the greatest heavyweight at the time, and a lot of people made money off him...he's a street animal, not right in the head... but he's a great fighter fallen from his pedestal

Tyson is an idiot

Nothing more, nothing less.

The Nevada commission amazingly came up with a backbone and turned him down. I say amazingly because in doing so they passed up a whole shitload of dollars.

Ali would have made mincemeat of Tyson...too bad that fight will never happen, I might have been tempted to actually fork over some money to see that one on PPV...proud to say I am PPV virgin.

Tyson is not an animal...just a fucked up human being..animals have more dignity.

After years of Parkinsons and abuse from the trade...Ali's diction is still better than Tyson's:D

But isn't that the new caring, sharing, family orientated Las Vegas at work?

If the city of Sin won't let him fight, and NY won't either (so says the mayor i think, or someone up on high) where else in the US can he go? looks like a thriller in manilla again.... two older guys past their best...hmmmmm

Can't wait to see that movie....

Just a personal opinion, but I think Mike would have been banned for life over most of his antics long ago if he weren't black.

MT is a very troubled individual and with any luck, the state of Nevada is going to provide him with round the clock care in the near future -- I don't think they'll let him out until he's too old to get around without a walker if he's convicted on the two new rapes he's about to be charged with.

The boxing analysts on ESPN had an interesting take on the latest Tyson brouhaha-- that TYSON is the one who doesn't want to fight, that he staged this whole thing so he would lose his license everywhere and not be able to fight.

Tyson is surrounded by leeches and other scumbags who rely on him for their daily bread. What do they care if he gets his head bashed in by Lennox Lewis? That's like $50million they can soak out of him. They're theory is that Mike wants to make sure that he can't fight ANYWHERE anymore. Then he'll be done and can blame it on other people, instead of saying that he's finished and doesn't want to get in the ring anymore.

Tyson is just a fascinating character. You listen to him talk, he's not the idiot people make him out to be. He's not going to Harvard, but he's not a dolt. He's a bad, bad man, yet obviously consumed with self-doubt. A dangerous and ferocious street fighter who keeps getting suckered by people who allegedly care for him. The one guy on ESPN said, "You wonder, where will Mike Tyson be in five years? Broke? In jail? Dead? The idea of him enjoying a comfortable retirement doesn't seem a possibility". It's hard to pity a guy like that, but I do. I pity the fool.

Mike Tyson is a troubled individual,I watched both the brawl before the hearing and then the hearing where they denied him the license to fight in Nevada. Both events were a sad. I think he is approaching his 36 birthday which is way beyond his prime as a fighter. If he has any money left perhaps he should invest wisely and retire.

While I appreciate the moral stand taken here by the NBC I'm confused as to their rationale. Mike Tyson will fight somewhere else and make slightly less money. The only people who this really hurts are people from Vegas.

Local opinion is that, except for California, closed circuit presentation of a Tyson/Lewis fight would yield almost as much "handle" as hosting the fight would. California is too close to Las Vegas for people to come here to bet on the fight (and also where most of the bettors live.)

The most likely place to take the fight right now, is Amsterdam. If that happens, Las Vegas will get almost as many high rollers in town as they would hosting the fight.

There is a bit more than a "moral stand" involved in the effects of this decision. It lends a great deal of credibility to other Nevada regulatory commissions -- like the Gaming Commission. Not applying the "rules" to Tyson would give the impression that all of Nevada's regulatory commissions are more worried about the local economy than they are about keeping things honest.

You don't have to be stupid to be excessively violent, but stupid or not, Mike Tyson shows a lack of judgement that is quite stunning.

Not to mention numerous rape charges and at least one conviction (violent and uncondonable actions) he continually has broken the rules of his profession. If he can't stick to the sport's own rules then why should he be allowed to be a professional boxer?

He has shown us that he has been a good fighter, but right now he hasn't got the judgment he needs to show. He shouldn't be granted a licence until he shows that judgement.

Which, and I'm not the one to argue against local opinion, sounds like a bunch of people who lost out on a big night of gambling and who're trying to look on the brightside. I may be wrong but I still think nevada should have let him fight.

Weird Harold,

You think black men are held to a lower standard than non-black men?

*sigh*

I'm adding you to my list of men that need more good black pussy.:p

In Mike Tyson's case, yes. He was given a license to fight Holyfield after he got out of prison here, in part, because he argued it would be discriminatory to deny him a right to make his living. essentially his argument boiled down to, "I'm just a dumb black man and can't get any work other than beating people up."

The commission decided to avoid a civil rights suit and Holyfield nearly got eaten alive.

thanks for the clarification, although I still don't see where race enters into it.

First, Mike specifically stated because of his race and education all he was qualified to do was fight.

Second, (IMHO) only a minority could get away with implying they would bring a civil rights discrimination suit and be truly believable.

I'm as color blind as I'm able to be, but I have a real problem dealing with the "It's not my fault. You're discriminating against me because I'm ***," argument when someone doesn't get what they want.

I had to deal with a lot of "I get the shit jobs 'cause i'm black" complaints in the service. My answer was usually, "No, you get the shit jobs 'cause the rest of the shop outranks you."

I've had to deal with racism, so it goes both ways. I recommend you enjoy more good black pussy to ease the pain.;)

Mike Tyson is dumber than a football bat. Anyone taking bets on how much money he will have in 15 years?
