Ok, I'm obviously aware of people using the excuse that they have a headache and therefore aren't in the mood for sex...

but does anyone else experience severe headaches and even dizzyness after sex?

I'm not talking about that amazing feeling after a particularly energetic orgasm... i'm talking hours afterward...

Should I be concerned/see a doctor? Or since this is something I've always experienced, should I chalk it up to one of those things that's 'normal' for me?

I have actually heard of a girl or two who do have a problem getting a headache and such.

Question, does it happen only if you have an orgasm, or after sex in general?

also... love the av. Luarana was a favorite of mine in DL books.

I sometimes experience sharp pains in my head, which I know is dangerous because I tend to hold my breath when I'm approaching orgasm, and I'm almost certain that it is because of a lack of oxygen to my brain. I've slowly learned to prevent myself from holding my breath, and it hasn't happened for the past two years.

But i get them everytime, whether i have an orgasm or not. makes it hard to enjoy, ya know?

I thought I was the only one who held my breath when approaching an orgasm. I don't feel so weird now. :)

I know that isn't the cause of this... the headaches don't start with my orgasm... they're after everything is over... suddenly the 'afterglow' is gone and my brain feels like it's swelling... i get the shakes, i see flashing lights... it comes and goes for hours

That definatly sounds like something I would see a doctor about. It sounds very uncomfortable, and it might be something simple that can be taken care of easily.

I read somewhere that Sex can help get rid of mild headaches....

thanks for the tip... actually, i've found it to be true... but this is a whole other ballgame

Coital Migraines.

That is what they are, and if you read the info on that thread, you will see that there is a way to stop them.

You can't imagine the severe pain of these headaches unless you have suffered from migraines before. I never had a migraine in my life until these attacks as I was reaching the peak of an orgasm. It wasn't until I read that someone else experienced them and followed the links to the sites with info on them, that I knew I was not alone and that there was hope.

Good luck pagancowgirl

I am the same exact way, weather I have an orgasim or not, I get a migrane. I went to my doctor and he told mer notworry unless the pain lasts for more than a few hours you should be seen.

I think you should def see a doctor...just to make sure it isnt something serious...good luck

Headaches

I have never been diagnosed with 'migraines' but I have had major headaches after sex when I've held my own breath for awhile. Just hurts to open the eyes afterwards at times, thought it doesn't happen every time, nor even very often for that matter. I hate to admit that Gilly might be right for once -tickles- but if it is an every-time sorta thing, I would see a doctor as well (and I HATE doctors, hehe).

And yes, very much digging the AV Pagan. I got Gilly to read that series about a year ago. Love Dragonlance and Fantasy Fiction (is what I usually write) and that's a favorite pic of mine. ;o)

Ciao
