Middling - a question for experienced Dominant and versatile/switch women...

I would really like to find a primarily Dominant woman for whom I could middle - as in an apprenticeship where I could serve Her (and perhaps occasionally top) and top others under Her tutelage... Any suggestions?

Am starting to expand beyond my circle of friends to the larger community, joining the Society of Janus, going to my first women's-only play night at the local community-run play space weekend after next, but not sure how to go about approaching someone about this. Am not shy but also not as assertive in less formal social situations as I probably should be...

Please don't suggest Alt! Have been on there for a couple of months asking specifically for a woman who might be interested in doing this with me, and have had absolutely NO luck. Even though I am more Domme than sub, have learned almost as much about Topping from bottoming as I have from topping (convoluted enough?)... I think I'm pretty darn fun to top. Make lots of noises and have a very deep capacity for pain and am pretty darn obedient (if very sarcastic) during a scene...

Aren't you in NYC? I get there every once in a while, you know - at least 2-3 x per year.

On a more serious note (although the above was just a tad serious), how would you suggest I make my approach? I am doing a website redo for a ProDomme in my area, 1st meeting is tomorrow, and am going to ask for her advice (she lives too far away to make such a relationship practical with her, plus I wouldn't presume). Problem is, I'm shy with people I've just met - I know, me? Shy? That's what my friends and colleagues would say, too, LOL. But it's twue! It's twue!

No, sadly I'm not. I get there around 2,3 times a year too, at best.

Honestly, I think it's showing up like I said. The website thing is a perfect example, getting plugged into the social circles that pros travel in doesn't hurt, getting plugged into the social circles of the lifestyle communities around you doesn't hurt.

I learned the majority of the advanced technical information I have (which isn't the most advanced out there by far) from going to workshops and traveling to go to them, rather than by specific scene mentors. There's more mentorship among NYC Dommes than anywhere I've been but also more politics.

Met the woman who co-organizes all women's play parties called SFunleashed - am going to the next one first weekend in November. I mentioned to her what I was looking for and she has offered to introduce me to a couple of women who might be interested in taking me on as an "apprentice."
