Michael Moore is a Moron.

Four dead, still low. And we could add up all the fatalities in China. It doesn't touch most decades for us. Why are these people using knives ramp? Is it cus they can't get them?

You miss the point. At anytime those governments can supress their popualtions without any problem. Like I have said before, our founding fathers having lived through such a time, thought it important to have the 2nd amendment.

Except the Founding Fathers kinda failed to put such wording in the original government. Which likely wasn't accidental. Lets accept your theory for a second though. The Founding Fathers lived in an entirely different era under entirely different rules than we live by today. Just because someone wrote it down two and a third centuries ago doesn't mean we should stick by blindly.

You to your credit have a logic that goes beyond it. You're frightened of the world and given your ancestory I guess there is good reason for that. Not that the entire military of France was more than an annoyance and they were doing plenty of damage to England and I'm just not seeing people buying planes and tanks and most people when it comes down to it wouldn't support that.

1) The blue states do not produce. They take the resources from other states, and then prevent the red states from using their own resources by legislating laws to prevent it.

If you look, it is not the red states that are bankrupt but the blue ones (California is one of them).

^^^^Weapons-grade derp.

By the way, I am a teacher

Sure you are.

He wants graphic pictures of the young people shot in Newton Ct. to be released so that the 2nd amendment will be repealed and the the NRA taken down. I don't know about you but I can imagine what those little treasures looked like blown away by a madman. I don't need to see it. We don't need theatrics. I think time would better be spent on our mental health system.

In other news and surprises, the sun will rise tomorrow.

More people get brutally killed by orders of magnitude because of America's crazy automobile culture.

Graphic pictures are everywhere of the daily carnage on the highways.

Why do cars need to go 100 MPH? Why not have mandatory speed limiters set at 65?

Why not completely "nerf" everything?

Guns, like most everything that cause harm, are a necessary evil.

Until, that is, the world becomes completely safe and free of all bad people and animals who want to hurt others.

Are you saying the ownage and useage of cars *isn't* nerfed to the 10'th degree for safety reasons already?

Where's my jet engine modded Prius with spike rims for racing through malls?

It's the same place as your airbagless, seatbeltless Viper in the state where no license and no test is required to own a vehicle.

Are you saying gun ownership and usage isn't already regulated to the nth degree?

Where's my grenade machine gun?

I don't know what state you live in. Memory suggests Florida, so I'm going to go with it.

If you would like to get a driver's license in your state, you must
1) take a safety course
2) pass a preliminary written test
3) pass a vision test
4) pass a road test
5) have your picture taken and filed in conjunction with your birth certificate or other government-issued ID
6) renew it each year.

If you fail or refuse any of these, you will not be allowed to operate this potentially deadly weapon.

If you would like to buy a handgun in your state, you will have to:
1) have a background check done

That's it. There are no other requirements for being allowed to operate this potentially deadly weapon. I don't even think you have to prove you can see.

Your analogy is not valid.

That's not any different from anti-abortionists who show aborted fetuses to try to promote their cause.

Are they also idiots?

All that regulation for driving, and yet more people get killed in cars than with guns. There are more guns in the US than cars. But much less regulation on their usage. There is similar regulation on their manufacture, however.

Now, let's assume you want testing and training to obtain a "firearm users' license".

That would probably cut back a couple accidental deaths a year, but does nothing to address the issue at hand, gun voilence by lunatics who already know how to shoot and don't care (obviously) about safety.

Want to take a crack at what's wrong with this deeply disingenuous statement before I or someone else does?

Depends on what you deem analogous, I suppose.

What's the Bushmaster of cars?

No. They're sensationalists. They almost exclusively show pictures of partial birth abortions which make up a tiny fraction of all abortions.

Cars are operated by a lot more people a lot more frequently than guns despite the difference in number. Like a lot of stats it's a BS stat.

Making firearms more difficult to obtain would cut back on the accidental deaths and lunatics.

"

* Based on production data from firearm manufacturers,[6] there are roughly 300 million firearms owned by civilians in the United States as of 2010. "

"According to the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics for 2009 there are 254,212,610 registered passenger vehicles. "

I would argue based on the numbers that guns are used just as much as vehicles. Most gun owners don't let them sit and collect dust, just like car owners.
