MEN-DO NOT READ, WOMEN ONLY

I'd give you a nice back massage and a heating pad, but my hands are cold and you'd hit me.

I'm not sure if the problem right now is the period starting at an inconvenient time, or the emotions. If the former, I'll be a broken record and again recommend the Keeper. Unlike tampons, you can safely use it just before your period if you are afraid that it might come at that inconvenient moment, like while on stage.

I used to have the worst periods in the entire world, and anyone who says they had worse periods than mine are liars, liars, liars.

Then I discovered...birth control! Seriously, that stuff is amazing. It took a few months for it to kick in, but once it did the worse thing I've experienced before or on my period was an urge to cry during a Mad Cow report on 60 Minutes. :)

If they are that bad, I'd agree with Pyper. BCP make them much easier, and more regular.

You can also check into Depo Provera. For most women it means no period. But that's a personal decision only you can make.

I'm with Cheyenne & Pyper. I used to have periods from hell till I got on the Pill. Now, I still have moodiness (some months are better than others, but this one's a doozy for some reason), but not NEAR what I used to experience. Hardly any cramps too - and I used to get cramps that kept me awake at night.

On a tangent...I've heard that women who hang around each other regularly start to cycle together. Me & CB are hitting that time right now. Anyone else?

I think that is true, but only if the cycles aren't artificially altered by bcp.

Cycling here too. I would vote for the pill...take it continuosly. Works for many. :)

Weird

I have my period right now too...and I'm also on the pill. My menstrual symptoms weren't that bad, except for the fucking cramps that would keep me up all night, it was the stuff before. I would get so depressed I wanted to die, get headaches, backaches, hot flashes, dizzy spells, it was a nightmare. And then...Ortho-TriCyclen. I still get minor cramps but one Advil and it's bye-bye cramps. Best decision I ever made.

Sorry you aren't feeling well, CB, but try to take a little comfort in the fact we've all been there. {{{CB}}}

I've known too many women to be fucked over by that. The pain isn't so bad all the time, just the first day, it just so happened that this time, the first day hit the same time as the full dress rehearsal of the show I'm dancing in. It gets easier to deal with as the days go by. By the fourth day, it's almost gone (the pain) I feel icky and dirty for all seven, but there's nothing I can do about that. I just haven't had anything this bad in a while.

My last ex was on the shot, but she was still getting her period, so they put her on birth control. Now she has ovarian cysts that could some day be cancerious unless they pull them out, but she wants to have kids someday... :(

Just thought I would bring my little bit of knowledge to the table.

And sorry I just couldnt stay out.

I had my first Ovarian surgery for cysts when I was 17, I vowed to not do it again. I"m too young to go without children just yet. So, I suffer...

Yep, almost there, myself. Starting to feel generally yucky. :(

CB, have you ever tried Aleve? It's the only thing that works for me. Tylenol just isn't strong enough. I hope you feel a bit better by now. I know it sucks, feeling like you want to cry.

Hey Sweet Cakes, I cant get the link to work...

Snuggles up agaisnt you

my link darlin'?

try it once more I think I fixed it -

and if not, let me know, I'll email it to you.

Yes, I hear you - but facts are that orgasm relieves the cramps. It is sure fire relief, so I've been told.
