Melioidosis.

I just had a patient with a positive sputum culture with something that sounds like Burkholderia pseudomallei, I was like: What the hell is this? I am not sure if it is the same organism because I forget.

More interesting is the fact that it has been listed as an illness on the list of possible future terrorism threats, along with Anthrax.

"Terrorism" is a made up word with no defined meaning. Its kind of like "racism." Until a better definition can be agreed on, it should be removed from linguistic usage.

All words are made up. And this made up word does indeed have a well defined meaning: violence or threats of violence towards third party civilian targets in order to achieve a political objective.

It's just that people don't use it properly, because it's root word 'terror' has so much emotional potential.
