Meanwhile, at Bianca's Smut Shack....

I've mentioned Bianca's Smut Shack here before....it was the first saucy web interaction site I hung out at in 1994 after the WWW came along and killed off most of the old BBS and MUD's as places to meet and talk/do sex/sexuality online.

It's now a paid subscription service, but here's an interesting update from Bianca herself, who along with her Trolls (all anonymous to this day, 8 years later) run the place. I saw it earlier while revisting the Shack to see if I should ditch here and go "home" again...but it looks like they have the same issues. Perhaps this will help with discussing/resolving the friction here.:

This is where i'm actually a bit worried. People seem not to be as nice as they once were. That's probably 'good old days' syndrome, but i do worry that the overall climate around the shack just becomes meaner, more petty and less attractive every month. In the past, every time the Trolls have become involved in social situations things have really blown up. We've found that the communities seems to be evolutionary in nature and that if we mess with one it gets... well, messed up. Usually noone ends up happy, so we've had a long-standing policy of 'hands off' in social matters. Of course, there's also the fact that none of us has any desire at all to babysit a bunch of whiny, immature, abuse, anonymity-disinhibited freaks. That's *not* the majority around the shack, even now. But sometimes it feels like those people are taking over. I don't know what we can do about it. We really don't want to go to a universal-registration system, but that's really the only effective way to control who's on the site. "Banning" seems to be such a stupid and juvenile way to influence a community.
I just don't know. Of course, there're going to be lots of suggestiong, ranging from 'get DNA samples on every biancanaut!' to 'i won't even accept a cookie' but as usual the best course is going to be somewhere inbetween. i just don't know where.

Anyhow... sorry! this was starting to turn into an 'i dunno' fest, and that wasn't in the plan for this rant!

Overall, i think things are looking quite good, and i hope that i can be more responsive over the next few months!

I personally think its normal for people to argue on occasion. Doesn't mean you don't like someone, or they don't like you in every case. Its just human nature. We are all strong creatures, and get defensive, sometimes without just cause, sometimes with it.

Lance, I do think you are an intellegent man. I have stated so already. I have no grude against you, nor should I have. We've never really interacted, so honestly we can't know what each other are like. I hope that you feel the same towards me, but it doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. As you are a stranger to me that happens to post on a board where I post as well. That's the extent of it.

I believe I probably owe you an apology for jumping at you in the other thread, and so I'm offering one now. No I didn't call you names, no I won't call you names. I don't play that game. Worst you'll get out of me is sweety...lol. But I should have kept my mouth shut when you were ranting about the women here. Taken it with a grain of salt, so to speak. I really didn't take it personally, just was hoping to make you stop and think before generalizing like that. End of story.

Here's hoping that all will return to normal, and that you'll decide to stay here. You're thoughts on serious subjects are great. You know me, I'm the knowledge sponge....lol. Maybe I should look into adding that to my sig line....hmmmm....what'cha think?

...Dixi, and you've certainly said or done nothing that I can recall as making me feel even the least bit chuffed.

No worries. No apology was required.

I too often find myself seeing posts go by with my name in them that contain impressions of me that I just know don't reflect who I am or what I really meant or felt when I wrote the words....so I try to explain...because I'm a proud man, imperfect fer sure, but not all bad either.

I've been online forever, so I fully realize that at the end of the day not much of what is said here really amounts for much on the canvass of my life or yours...but I do try to make everything I do count for something.

Sometimes I become exasperated at ad hominem remarks and can be very sharp tongued in return.

Sometimes my sense of humour goes over like a lead fart.

But in the end, it's all Me, I guess.

And there's nobody here...nobody... that I enjoy the thought of being on harsh terms with for anything more than a moment or five.

Sometimes, it's just a personality clash and rather than see it as such, we fight over other things and call them important.

You're an alpha dom, you said as much.

There has never been an alpha who hasn't tested authority. From a purely clinical interest in the matter, I find it rather interesting that the one you clashed with was the submissive out of all four offerings.

Then again, she was the most vocal about "topping" the forum and doms don't like to be "topped."
