Didn't u read "Da Vinci Code" ?
Not even the movie?
GAWD !
I did see the trailer . . . . . that's usually the best part of the movie.
Okay, back to your cup. We're starting to get kind of deep into symbolism here, but I'll give it a shot.
As everyone knows, the chalice, or Holy Grail, was once believed to be buried in Rosslyn Chapel below a symbol consisting of two interlocking triangles which represented the blade and the chalice, which in turn were male and female symbolic representations. However, the Holy Grail was said to have been later relocated to a place below the the inverted glass pyramid, a symbolic representation of a chalice, at the Louvre. Taking a step even deeper into symbolism, it was later postulated that the Holy Grail was not really an actual chalice, but was a woman, Mary Magdalene, who carried the bloodline of Christ.
So, clearly when you said "wisdom cup" anyone who was awake should have immediately thought of female symbol, meaning chalice, meaning Holy Grail, meaning inverted triangle (first at the Rosslyn Chapel and then at the Louvre), but really meaning Mary Magdalene, who carried the bloodline of Christ.
I feel embarassed for not immediately blurting out this sequence of linked symbols, but it was just too obvious. When you said "cup" I thought you were probably referring to a concave Gaussian surface or your bra. I didn't think it would be anything so obvious. Please forgive me.
Although the "Da Vinci Code" is often referenced when discussing the Holy Grail, most serious scholors consider Mony Python to be the definitive source.
So, have you smoked any good dope in your Chalice of Wisdom lately?
