I'm rather good at that. The theory as I understand it is that a black hole in this part of the universe has such mass, that it actually punctures a hole in space-time itself. And if this is the case, it might be possible, even probably that the converse side of the black hole, is what they call a white hole.
A massive eruption of matter and energy so huge and powerful that it would be like a blazing white spot in space, brighter than stars.

Great thought provoking post here except for the wikipedia reference. But yeah, I have read/heard the same thing and it is a rather fascinating thing. The thing though is that if it explodes into a white hole, or a blazing white spot, what is actually coming out? All of the matter that entered the black hole itself? Then comes the question of where does the white hole appear? In our universe or a parallel universe?

That is the fascinating part of it. WE THINK that the white holes might come out in another part of our universe, but I believe Hawking theorized that it would have to be white holes from OTHER universes coming out here and ours going out there. It would in fact be a way to prove multi-dimensional theory.

I thought that the recent idea behind our universe was that matter from a white hole was essentially the "big bang" and that is how everything here was created. Kinda does makes sense if you think about it. I don't think it would be possible for a white hole to appear in our universe that came from a black hole that resided in the same universe.
