Posting this because I'm certain there will be no retraction posted here by the gullible old coot who so gleefullly promoted the hoax:

One Texan's tall tale debunked: McCain volunteer admits making up attack story

Did you hear of the story where the McCain campaign volunteer was robbed by an Obama supporter who carved a "B" into her cheek after seeing a McCain-Palin bumper sticker on her car?

Well, it's a hoax.

Pittsburgh police say 20-year-old Ashley Todd, a College Station native, has confessed to making up the story and will be charged with making a false report to police, according to the Associated Press.

Todd initially said she was robbed and assaulted at knifepoint by a 6-foot-4 black man near an ATM in Pittsburgh. She said he told her he was going to teach her a lesson for supporting McCain, and that she was going to be a "Barack supporter."

Both the McCain and Obama campaigns had denounced the attack on Ms. Todd, and Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin both called Ms. Todd personally to offer their sympathy.

If you're crazy and starved for your fifteen minutes of fame in America, just claim you were brutalized by a big black man. You'll always find a willing audience.

It feels good to have you on Ignore. I know you're there, but I can't smell you.

ROB'S having Obama's love child.

This is the next scandal.

Heehee. Johnson is still here. I can't see his words, but I know he's swatting haplessly at imaginary black muggers in the dimly lit alley of his soul.

imaginary BIG black muggers.

... swatting haplessly at imaginary black muggers in the dimly lit alley of his soul.

Das brilliant. *hic*

The poor, misguided child was just following the tactics of the ticket she supports. Mislead, lie, divert attention from the real issues. *shrug* Ain't her fault she's a quick study.

It was an arts and crafts project. Shereads, I know you'll appreciate this . And yes, that's her. Beware what you post of yourself on the internet.

Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department's investigations division, said Todd is being charged with making a false police report.

Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.

"She just opened up and said she wanted to tell the truth," Bryant said, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "She was upset with the media for blowing this into a political firestorm."

Right-wing Rule #1: Always blame the media.

Yesterday, a Fox News VP wrote of the attack that it might cause Obama supporters to reconsider their vote, "not because of racism, but because they now feel they do not know enough about Obama."

Is this what Republicanism does to the human brain?

My 10-year-old could make a nicer looking poster than that. How fucking lame.
