Is it possible to get Carpel Tunnel syndrome from masturbating too much? Would that be covered under my health care plan?
And what would you call it?

We already have tennis elbow and Nintendo thumb, got any ideas?

just wondering.....::D

Oh, I'm sure it's possible. Very possible. But it's not going to stop me or most others at this board.

;)

Do I masturbate to much?

You mean the Canadian music channel?

I dont, maybe others do. Maybe they are airing something other than what I think they are.

masterbation

It's a keeper, with or without carpal tunnel. How else to really get to know yourself? LOL

Hell, if you are getting paid to do it, then tell us where we can apply!

Well, if you get Carpel Tunnel...well, I don't have it. There is an idea....

"need a hand?"

You may be joking, but... A couple of years ago it actually happened. She won a worker's compensation claim. Here's the story! ;)

Repetitive Strain Injury (Source: Houston Chronicle 20/11/1999)

A Florida phone sex operator won a worker's compensation settlement claiming that she was injured after regularly masturbating at work. During the course of her claim, the now 40-year old employee of Fort Lauderdale's CFP Enterprises Inc, said that she developed carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands from masturbating as many as seven times a day while speaking to callers.

The woman used one hand to answer the phone and the other to note customers' names and fetishes and to give herself an orgasm during the verbal exchanges. The calls usually lasted 15 minutes, but callers who asked for her by name were given 30 minutes.

In her petition for worker's compensation benefits, the woman claimed weekly benefits of $267 a week and also asked for $30,000 in medical bills after a neurosurgeon operated on her hands to relieve the pain. Her attorney, Steven Slootsky, said that his client, who remained anonymous, had agreed to a 'minimal settlement'. He declined to disclose the amount.

STG, sounds like you would be our source of information if we had to fill out the insurance claims for said injury. Perhaps you should go ahead and post the information as a How-to.

Nothing to it. Bear in mind that the original question was said "health care plan", not workman's compensation. they are two different things. I get treatment for my rather mild carpal tunnel syndrome from my chiropractor who does an adjustment on my wrists to alleviate the pain.

Insurance doesn't really care - they just pay for the visit. I do not recall any exclusion for CTS in my insurance policy.

I have found there are three things I do that aggravate the syndrome; masturbation, keyboard and mouse use, and riding my motorcycle (throttle grip).

I bought a MS "Natural" keyboard and a Logitech optical mouse to help, and I have a Schnieder throttle lock and a "throttle rocker" lever to help with the motorcycle riding. I haven't found anything to help with the masturbation - indeed, coming here to lit makes it worse.

Only in America! I got work comp for carpal tunnel but I was a legal secretary for 7 years, doing transcription several hours a day. I couldn't even lift a magazine before my surgeries.

I just happen to have a position open for personal masturbation assistant. The pay isn't much, and you have to pass an oral exam :p , but room and board is included. :D

Yes, the insurance will not take your claim seriously if you say you masterbated once too often. Though that sex worker did have a valid claim becuase that was her job! So, you would have to have a valid reason for wanking off so often. I think being a lit member would be a difficult defense even if we do understand. So, it would be better to make up a valid alternative reason.
I think it depends on whether we are talking workman's comp or just plain health coverage. I believe with the latter they have to pretty much pay for allowed treatment for a covered condition regardless of a cause - unless it was covered under some other kind of insurance.

When I cracked my sternum crashing my bike, my health plan covered it because I didn't have injury insurance on my bike. It didn't matter to them that I injured myself crashing my bike doing something really stupid.
