Mama Blu's

So I have a question to throw out. :)

First let's all admit that we have prejudices. Everyone prejudges. We look at people and make a snap decision on what we think that person is like. I know I do although I'd like to think I keep an open mind and am always willing to change my opinion as I get to know someone. But that being said, yeah I have some prejudices that perhaps are unfounded.

And that sounds like an interesting conversation to have. What prejudices do you have or had? And why do you feel that way? Has anyone ever changed your thoughts?

I will admit that I have a strong aversion to muscle guys. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy looking at them but I hesitate to engage with them. Maybe it's because I have yet to meet a man who is all into the gym and looking like that, who isn't vain and just a bit self-obsessed. Or maybe it's because I feel like a shlub standing next to him. It maybe it's just a knee jerk reaction based on high school days and the utter assclowns that were the jocks. I'm not sure if it's one of those reasons or maybe all of them. But yeah muscle-y guys make me step back a little.

So anyone else want to share their prejudices when it comes to relationships?

I try to believe im not too judgemental but hey i have my shallow episodes lol.

For me its women who bite their fingernails, i dont like it on men or women, but given you asked in reference to relationships ill talk about the women. Now i dont mean just a nervous nibble, im talking about ones that chew them until they are stubs. I just find it extremely unattractive and off putting and it has made me decline a relationship because of it. Before you judge me, it was in high school lol. I was good friends with her before and after she asked me out, but i couldnt get past it when imagining a relationship with her, or holding hands with her. I know, deep as a puddle right, but you asked and again it wouldn't deter me from a friendship but yeah it is a bit of a deal breaker for me.

What is it that you assume about someone who bites his/her nails? I used to. I broke the habit the summer I spent working in a horse barn. After shoveling shit all day, you don't want your hand anywhere near your mouth. 😂

Its not that i assume anything about their character, anything more than being an anxious person i guess, which i have no issue with. I just would find that hard to get past. Maybe im a bit off on what u were asking for in your question Blu, i apologise.

Outing our convo are ya? ;)

Not all muscley guys are jerks...jocks. Not all muscley guys are athletes. Some are due to the nature of their work & some are muscley out of necessity. In the world I grew up around, you had to be strong. You had to project an image, but in that world, that image would be tested so you had to back up that image. I always wanted to be strong enough so if somebody jumped on my back, I could flick my arm & they go flying. So it was for protection for myself & others.

No need to apologize, sugar. :). I was just wondering why that bugged you. :)

Every muscle guy I've known has been a jerk. Maybe you can prove that wrong. Lol.

Although there is a difference to me between guys who have muscles because of work vs. those who gain them specifically for the aesthetic. It's the latter that makes me give a little side eye.

Well that is for you to determine.

Right now my training is for competition but I wouldn't consider myself a jerk..I mean a jock or an athlete, just a competitor.

I know but you're throwing me, man. Lol. You're spending all the time working out. Ick.

Although I am impressed by your work ethic and determination. :)

I enjoy it. Sometimes it takes me a while to get started. Also what's cool is when you are at rest, there is a heat coming from your muscles.

I've been lifting weights on & off since I was 5 years old. And I've always been working out in some way or another.

And I've always lived with the dark side. ;)

That just tells me that you need me. You need silly and goofy and fattening foods to balance out all that exercise. 😁

We all need balance in our lives. Ying to go with the Yang. Coming out of balance (and obsessing) creates trouble.

As to your original question last night: I can't bear Drama Queens and Kings. Life offers enough real drama. Manufactured drama (and the comedy to relieve it) is not required or welcome.

Well I can try but you should know that according to a few of your male Lit brethren,I am an Ice Queen/Frigid Bitch. 😂

So what's the matter, sugar? Tell Mama... ;)

Someone took down the pics while I was gone! I should be mad at me, but I don't wanna be, mama!

Plus I need to run and it is ummmm nasty outside to say the least.

I would never call you that either. You are Nice Frigid Bitch, duh! I have never thought of you as Frigid or Bitch.

That's God's way of telling you that running sucks and not to do it. The pics.... well that's just my way of telling you to keep up. ;)

Give it time. Lol.
