Mama Blu's

Cover Charge Tues. 1/7

Good Evenin', y'all!

BRRRRRRrrrrrr!:(

Okay so I found myself cooped up in the house and so I decided to do a little sewing. To be honest, I just saw my pile of fabric growing huge and thought it was time to whittle it down just a bit. I ended up making some pajama pants for the boys and a crate pillow for the dog. They turned out well if I do say so myself. :D

So, yes, sewing is one of the crafts/hobbies I enjoy. And it makes me wonder about you guys. Do you have any hobbies that you enjoy? That's it for tonight.... that's the cover... is there any hobby that you like to indulge in? Do you have any creative juices flowing in your veins?

Blu

Hmmm hobbies, probably one of those who has too many :D I like shooting, archery, reading, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding.

As far as creative juices, well I write here :)

We just got an archery set for the youngest. Our oldest likes to shoot his BB gun. Now Hubby says that we have to make a range in the backyard in order for them to practice.

I can't remember the last time I went horseback riding, but I do miss it. Although cross fingers for me, Hubby might have found a place for me to ride.:)

Will cross my fingers for ya :)

Hehe yeah we used to practice archery and with our BB guns in the backyard when we were growing up.

I've been too busy to indulge lately, but I restore old lamps form the '30's-'60's and give them as gifts. My latest is an early thirties industrial age lamp from a Doctor's office. It's in pieces in the garage for 2 years now. Maybe when I finish school and am not so busy I can get what I need ordered and get back to it. I also make lamps out of crazy shit, novelty lamps made from household things like a vacuum. Or a toaster. It's fun and I get to be creative with electricity....it can be "stimulating" at times! :D

Oh that sounds cool! Do you have any pictures of some of the lamps you have made?

Hey Mr. Wonderful!

My grands had a really cool old lamp, from the early thirties. It was a combination lamp and two-piece telephone. One could turn the lamp on by twisting the switch, or it would come on automatically when one lifted the ear-piece from it's cradle. I wish they'd kept hold of it. The phone actually still worked when they got rid of it in the mid 80's

Good evening Ms Blue.

Good evening Ms Blue.
No, I don't keep pics, maybe I should start huh? And a hearty hello to you Miss Blu.

1Sick, I've seen pics of lamps like that, they were quite clever in that era trying to come up with the "next big thing". Would love to get my hands on one and convert it for 21st century technology.

Good evening Ms Blue.

Hey there 1sick! I really am going to have to figure out something else to call you. [laughs]

And what is your hobby? How creative are you?

Can you make a leg lamp a la A Christmas Story?

I am definitely not creative!! Lol!

My most time-consuming hobby is the flower garden. It's huuuuuge. And it takes a lot of work. I'll admit that I'm a little lost in the winter without it to putter around in. :)

Leg lamp? Sure, if I could find a mannequin. Are there mannequin junkyards? Hmm...just where do old mannequins go?

I'm sure adapting it to 21st century might work, to a point. Part of the charm is the old rotary dial.

1sb works pretty well.

And what is your hobby? How creative are you?

Reading and research is my biggest hobby. I like complex strategy games as well. I used to play bass, some guitar and more recently a bit of ukulele. It's been a while and I was never very good at it. My biggest creative streak of late centers on writing. It's mostly crap though. I may, on a good day, keep a fifth of what I write.
