Cover charge 01/05

Welp.....I'm snowed in. The wind has been blowing hard all day, it's been snowing since yesterday, and we're about to get hit with -20F temps tonight. No way I'm going outside!!

We've been hunkered down all day, watching movies in our pajamas and playing board games. So far we've covered Clue, Life, and Tripoley. Looks like tomorrow might be about the same....I don't have a lot of hope that they're gonna clear the county road enough by tomorrow morning for it to be driveable, not with all this drifting.

So...easy cover charge today....what's your favorite way to spend a day when you're stuck at home?? And yes, that is a given! Unfortunately, there wasn't anyone available here for that! Lol!

Out here, usually if it's bad enough to be stuck at home then the power's out. Lots of catching up on reading and making a soup over the wood stove is usually what I like doing those days.

I spent my day watching a Shameless marathon and playing spider solitaire. That's about as good as it gets these days....

Cover Charge Mon 1/6

Well I think I have had a productive day.

I went to the gym (after lolling about in bed for a little bit of a sleep in) and then fell asleep on the MRI table. Then it was rush home, get the kids, and get dinner started. I now have the smell of a roast in the oven and a little time to relax and chat before Hubby gets home and time to do the whole evening rituals.

So, not bad right?

Of course the weatherman is talking on and on about how freakin' cold it is gonna be and the schools have delayed openings tomorrow. Ugh! I so hate the cold. Right now I wish I was somewhere warmer.

In fact, how about that as a cover charge. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? What would you be doing? Would you be alone or with a special someone?

Well I am fine where I am actually. Adelaide (south Australia) is a pretty nice place. We are right near the coast so can go to the beach easy for swimming (re ogling at bikini clad women ) and fishing. Riverland an hours drive away for fishing and skiing. Wineries all around and the weather is good most of the time, no snow, winter down to 15c and summer up to 49c.
I have my family to share it with so could only ask for one thing more. All my friends from Lit who are shivering away at the moment to be transported here with their loved ones for a nice vacation and the money to show them a good time.

It is wickedly cold here. Temps are supposed to set a record tonight. Ugh!

Yeah I'm probably going to be getting up every few hours tonight to both keep the woodstove full and check on the livestock. Got some beet pulp soaking in warm water for the next time I go out, then probably going to bring them another bale of hay around 3-4am. Not fun, thank goodness for Carhartt heh.

School was canceled today and again tomorrow....they just can't keep the roads clear with all the snow drifting. Couldn't go to work today because I couldn't get my car doors open - they were all frozen shut!

At this point, I'd take any location warmer than 0F with clear roads!
