Make a haiku

stretched out on the couch,
folding into a new book...
happily ensconced.

flying down the road
disappointment disappears,
lost in the exhaust...

Silence in my head:
A welcome respite from doubts
And a time to heal.

being too eager
to please, i play hide and seek,
poorly, with myself...

Close my eyes - can't think -
You're in my thoughts, lying there -
And I want you now -

rainy days are here
bringing cool air and soft breeze
autumn has arrived.

our bodies sticky and wet
panting, catching our breaths
a white cloud vanishes in the empty sky

Hey...not to be pedantic or or critical....but a haiku has a pretty strict syllable structure:

five syllables in the first line
seven syllables in the second line
five syllables in the third line

It's actually a Japanese form originally, and "syllables" mean something different in Japanese than in English, but for English haikus, the five-seven-five structure is generally accepted. :)

Hopefully this will be taken in the spirit intended. :)

Thanks for the reminder.

AS you will see in the sig line -- I do this all the time some for a quarter others for a dollar. Here's one from the other night that works for me :

Blood orange Moon sets
Ocean waters extinguish
Equinox's dawn

Ghost from long day's past.
I stop him. One moment to say,
Welcome back to Lit

;)

we could just wrap up
in bubble wrap, to be safe.
but i'd miss your touch...

Bowling with bumpers:
Safe but unsatisfying.
Bliss lies near the brink.
