It's always puzzling to me.

And why would one wonder - why?

If good one tends to 'deserve' it.

If bab one tends to 'not deserve' it.

I tend to ask why to it all - good or bad.

The bullshit of life - the magic of life.

Your fate, my fate, our fate.

Being born 'who you are,' as well as 'who you are not.'

Luck - Fate - Magic?

Fuck - Mate - Tragic?

Muck - Trate - Gadget?

It's all fucking magic. It's all fucking bullshit.

Puts a grimmacing grin on my futile face. I trudge on. And on, and on, and on.......

Well.....

I lost my prospect (job) at the World Bank. They're in the midst of a budget crunch and decided to 'promote from within' - a 6 month 'test.' If they don't like it - I have another chance. But - it's over for now.

The 'mulching crew' blowing Spring mulch around the gardens of our beautiful garden apartment complex, appears to have blown mulch up, under and into the cover of my nearly brand new ZRX1200R. It started and ran great but it needed a bath. I bathed it and now it don't run that well.

While test riding it after the bath - and noticing it's foul mood - I forgot a timed out, no left turn intersection and rolled right into a police trap - got 2 tickets. The other for not having a 'motorcycle' license. Which I have not had since I was 20.

The only thing that safed my bike from swinging from a tow-truck was my US Marine sticker on my helmet. The cop (a motorcycle cop) liked that - and my bike - and let me slide on that part.

But my bike still runs bad.

Oh the magic of bad luck.

Magic is a good thing, Sparky. It makes you soft and smooth all over.

Sorry to hear about the job prospect. It sounded like you really wanted this one when you wrote about it. Maybe it just wasn't the best job for you- YOUR job is still waiting for you to find it.

Last time I was in the job market was the early 90's. The jobs I almost had but lost, with hindsight, were all jobs I'm glad I didn't get. The companies no longer exist today. The job I ended up with, again with hindsight, was definitely the best of the lot. At the time, it didn't seem that way though.
