Scientists at the Agriculture Department of the Hebrew University in Rehovot have genetically engineered a chicken that has no feathers. The naked chicken as it has been dubbed is also a low
calorie bird because the lack of feathers means the chicken has less fat. (Hebrew University via Reuters)

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen...lol

Just when you thought chickens couldn't get any fucking uglier.

That's so sad.

That is one pitiful looking animal. I do approve of the lack of fat, though, because I made chicken soup last night and I nearly threw up while preparing it, pulling the fat away from the flesh. I only cook it about once a year because it grosses me out so much. I'll eat dead animal, but I really hate to touch it. I usually go for vegetarian chik-patties, anyway, but you can't make a good soup out of those. So I'm all for chickens with less fat. (The guts are still in there, though, so it'll still be awful) There is no good solution for me.

I'm sorry to be so graphic.

As far as I know its real (but who knows whats real and whats not these days?).

I'm a bit suss about it because there seem to be some stray feathers on the chicken though...
