Loving Wives - Why?

I don’t know why people go out of their way to hate this category but they do. There’s at least one anonymous 1 star bandit who likes to troll authors and I suspect he’s leaving multiple 1 votes on stories which is easily done in a variety of ways.

Most importantly, I enjoyed writing it.

That’s all that matters. If we cared about high scores it’d be pretty easy to write a mainstream story about a hot blonde 18-year old hypnotized into fucking her father on a spaceship and pull a 4.5 on a 764-chapter version of it every time.
But LW deals with rawer emotions and sometimes illicits some really reactive scoring. It just goes with the territory.

I think people post in that category for a variety of reasons, but I'll give you mine

As some others have mentioned, the ratings aren't important to me right now. As a new author to this site, I'm mostly interested in the comments right now. LW gets more comments than any other category easily. Sure, there are trolls there. But I also find feedback helpful at this point.

Those that comment in LW will happily point out any mistake, trivial or not. I appreciate having mistakes in grammar or fact pointed out to me, no matter how nastily it's delivered. Of bigger note to me more recently, an anonymous comment on the end of my story, got me thinking in a new direction. The person commenting didn't love or hate my ending, just wanted something different and explained why.

I came up with a new ending that I actually preferred, and it's one that never occurred to me while writing that story. Sure, you have to sift through a lot of crap to find a gem sometimes, but for me it's currently worth it.

Another reason for me, is that LW stories don't seem to have many actual "loving wives" in the stories. Currently my goal in LW for every story is to have the wife actually love her husband, regardless of where the plot goes. If I ever write a story about a devious, calculating, cruel wife ... it won't be posted in LW. Maybe Erotic Horror.

I know that LW is a topic that's been discussed to death, but for the writers that post there, may I ask why?

I'm assuming that the most popular answer is 'because fuck them'. I like and respect that answer, but that category is such a cesspool that I can't even conceive of posting a story there. Fuck the idiots that vote and comment in LW. Got it. But is there another reason? Am I missing something?

If I had a story that would normally go there, I would strip it of any sex and put it in non-erotic.

There are readers in LW who open every story and give it a 1. These people are disturbed. Half the voting/commenting readers want the female lead to be drawn and quartered and the other half want reconciliation regardless of how abusive the relationship is(was?). There is very little room in the middle.

I just don't get the readership or the authors that spend their valuable time and considerable talent wading into that waste.

I have recently been posting stories in Loving Wives.
My major motive is that the theme of female infidelity fascinates me. Anyone familiar with the history of letters to Penthouse and other men's magazines understand that this is a popular theme. The possibility of pregnancy resulting from extra marrital sex even ceased to be taboo.

I keep posting on Loving Wives in spite of the a use just to piss off the BTB trolls. If I ran this site I would ban those idiots.

Why not Extra Currucular Sex?

My major motive is that the theme of female infidelity fascinates me. Anyone familiar with the history of letters to Penthouse and other men's magazines understand that this is a popular theme. The possibility of pregnancy resulting from extra marrital sex even ceased to be taboo.

I have always found the theme of infidelity to be sexually stimulating whether it be Female or Male. If most people are honest some of their most stimulating encounters with the opposite sex (or the same sex for that matter) have been times when the encounter is forbidden. It doesn’t matter if it’s sneaking a kiss under the mistletoe with a coworker at the office Xmas party, your husband’s golf buddy copping a feel underneath your T-shirt while you are retrieving a beer from the refrigerator, or letting your boyfriend slip his hand into your pants while Daddy is watching the ball game across the room; doing those naughty things gives you an adrenaline rush the kicks the libido into a higher gear and increases the pleasure of the moment. I think most people seek that kind of rush from the written word but many are repulsed because they feel guilt about being stimulated by something forbidden. That in my opinion is some of the motivation of the troll. That, and many of them are men who refuse to see that women can be equal to them in any area of life including libido.

I have always felt that the Loving Wives category is improperly named. It should be something less sexist. Why not EXTRA CURRICULAR SEX (Men AND Women explore experiences outside the boundaries of their committed relationships)? The category as it is, presents characters that are Hot Wives, Cuckolding Shrews, Cheating Whores etc who are lambasted for their whorish behavior by the troll commentators, while male story characters who exhibit the same character traits are given a pass. I’d like to see male and female characters placed on some equal footing in the category so that it’s just not women and their behavior that is the subject matter but both women and men.

That makes sense from the standpoint of fairness, but probably not from the more important standpoint: responsiveness to reader needs.

My guess is that the readership for hot wives/cheating wives is many, many times the readership for hot husbands/cheating husbands. And it is likely that readership A wants nothing to do with stories targeted at readership B. So ultimately fairness has nothing to do with it. Categories are crafted to aid readers in finding the stories they want, and in avoiding the stories they don't want.

Your proposal does have the advantage of being more accurate and inclusive. I've always thought "Loving Wives" is an odd name for the category. But at this point readers probably become so accustomed to it that a change might not be well received.

Rest assured, each category on this site has one. It’s not limited to the LW category🌹Kant👠👠👠

I think the category name is perfect. It’s wives. Who are loving.
Who they are loving? That’s why I read.

You sir, should be commened for walking through that battlefield like a boss. lol

Thank you, I do enjoy writing them, but I write them for me. I post them because I can and know there are a few followers that love what I writer because it annoys all the trolls.

I have always found the theme of infidelity to be sexually stimulating whether it be Female or Male.

I think there’s a very specific reason or two for this:
- Most of us grow up where sex is taboo. All the tropes: don’t masturbate. Don’t fantasize. Good girls don’t. Don’t get caught. We have to sneak around. It’s all hush-hush. Then we grow up and it isn’t anymore - and we lose some of that adrenaline. And infidelity brings back all the risk and rush we had as teenagers.
- Secondly, we probably aren’t biologically built for monogamy. Infidelity stories help live out the fantasy without incurring all the risk.

So to me it’s the richest trove of them all.

Got one in the chute for the BTBers. Hope it goes on the first attempt and doesn't get sent back.

Now I have to decide if I want to follow it up and if so, how.

Unless somebody wanted to take the leash and run with it? (As long as the spirit remains).

Teehee, teehee, teehee ..... :D:nana::p:catgrin:

Er, okay... Hope you had fun trolling.

I read it, had the reaction of "That was a minute of my life I'm not getting back" and couldn't be bothered to even vote, let alone leave a comment. Sorry if I wasn't as outraged as you apparently want.

Well seeing as how voting and comments were turned off...but we'll go with your story.

Just read your new story. Thought I'd come along and give every other story you have written a one star as a response. Not because I disliked the story, which was rather imaginative, but because LW doesn't need more troll wars on either side. Sort of my way of saying stop it or go away.
