Is it just me or have the stories in the WL category been decreasing in number of stories, and changing in the type of stories presented. So many now are pure revenge against a cheating spouse stories. There used to be more stories about shared wives or hot wives, or couples that agree to have a third party in their sex play Now I see very few. Have all the "1" bombs and scathing attack criticism taken their toll and driven off LW authors?

That's the one category that I do not understand, and at this point, I don't really care to.

I've seen some really quality stories hammered in that category simply because they don't fit certain readers' kink. I've never written a LW story, and I don't ever plan on it.

I think some catagories (LW included) have their ups and downs. Personally, I avoid LW and Forced/Reluctance like the Black Plague. The harrassment ain't worth it.

Daggett, I agree exactly with your comment – yes there are lots of stories that only want revenge on a spouse if they do any more than wash dishes and darn socks.

The comments and bombs piss me off but I keep at it as there are some presumably like yourself that enjoy. To reduce the comments I even had one story where the wife did not “putout” but that got me even more hate mail.

I had shooter3704 and tonytony3 on my favourites list but I notice that both these authors have removed their submissions, they were on the hubby happy with wife theme as well.

I also enjoyed the stories of tonytony3. I'm sorry he elected to remove his stories from the site. All the really nasty negative responses take their toll. You can't really call it feedback because most of the negative comments have to do with the subject and not the writing itself. Too bad the 1-bombers and trolls are winning.

You know, it's kinda bad but I don't think I've ever even looked in the Loving Wives category. I generally prefer the kinkier type stories, so I'm more likely to haunt those categories. I know there's variety in all the categories, but a lot of times I don't even bother to check.

My very first story was in LW, sad to say. At the time, I didn't know that it was a dumping ground for cheating wife stories, and embarrassingly, I have to admit that such was the theme of my story (the loving wife part came about later in the story).

I think authors who want to write a real loving wife story post now in Romance and EC. As Jenny said, posting in LW isn't worth it.

I don't really care about the score that I am given and yes, there are a lot of hateful comments sent to me, but I find it worthwhile for the positive comments and emails that I get from readers who are a fan of the cheating wife genre. What I don't understand is why some people are continually amazed that the LW section is full of slut wife stories. They must have some goldfish memory gene or something.

Perhaps they should start a cheating wife category for us to post in so these one-handed, morally righteous sorts aren't 'surprised' at what they find. If people don't like or understand the content, they should move along and not waste theirs or our time with a demeaning comment and a low score.

Let porn be porn.

My Two Cents (USD)

I must be talented (or just lucky) in a freaky way, because I've managed to get very high marks in the LW and NC cats. Okay, so maybe my attempt to write a Dark Desire sequel has been mired in failure in the NC cat, but otherwise I'm pretty pleased. Maybe I just "walk the line" and write what I think the cats want.

And then again, maybe I've totally missed the heart of this thread, which wouldn't surprise me either.

Maybe I should stop here. But then again, I won't. Crap, I'll probably regret this <LOL>

I think this thread is long overdue. Here's what I think, and I mean no disrespect to anyone.

1. Lit needs a "Weclome Mat". And I'm not talking about a forum with that name, but rather a forum which encourages newbies to explore and learn about Lit. Call it "Watercooler", but don't bury it it the Editor forum where few see it (look at the frequency of posts). I can certainly understand the reluctance to change.

2. There are some stories that do not fit into a cat. I agree with White Wave about this. Should Lit expand?

3. As long as we're dreaming... I have 89 stories (still growing) and don't have the time to cruise the comments to see if there's a new one. Is there a way the writer can be drawn to a new comment? I hate to ignore one, as in many instances I respond.

4. Oh, shit... And there's that whole terrorist thing...

I like the 'Welcome Mat' idea Asylum. I think a lot of new people crash through here without really knowing what they're really looking for and how to find it. I know I did when I first 'discovered' Lit...I was so caught up in finding a great story repository I just jumped right in to the deep end and submerged myself. I found what I liked through trial and error.

It would have to be simple and easy to navigate in order to encourage people to actually use it

loving wives covers a lot of ground

My series The Ranch got put in LW even though it has kink, gay male, BSDM and a pretty much everything else including a loving wife and her hubby and the Master the Both love.

We have our own hangups.

I have my hangups, and everyone does, the hard part is to try and enjoy a story without having the hangup or hard limit slam you right in the face. I'm uncomfortable with incest/taboo stuff. I just don't find it appealing. That is my hangup, not anyone who does enjoy those stories.

I have to live MY life, and leave yours alone is the theory I try, try mind you, to live by.

Loving wives, well I have a couple ideas that are too insubstantial to even begin to describe, but could fit in that catagory sometime in the future.

I posted a story that I had intended for the Exhibitionist/Voyeur category. I must have made some sort of error when submitting it, as it wound up in the LW section. The characters were based on actual people, as were the events. BUT, it was most certainly a fictional STORY, and I am NOT the character "Steve". Nonetheless, the story was slagged, which didn't really bug me at all; If people think it was crap, fine. What bugs me is, that there are a lot of stories that I find uninteresting, or outside my interests, but I simply ignore them. I do know that I'll never submit another story to the LW category, which I'm sure will keep some people happy, and allow attention to be given to stories whose content is unlikely to offend the readers who enjoy that category. My apologies to those I may have offended.

I love all stories and all categories.

My life has always been changing and along with it, my fantasies, my likes and dislikes, but those things are all mine, and I see no reason to condemn another for enjoying his or her current erotic experience or fantasies, just because they don't happen to be mine at that point in time.

I'm always amazed at how seriously some take these stories. After all, they're there to be read to assist with, or give you an idea for a fantasy, or if you're lucky, a real experience.

Some of the comments I read cause me to laugh. How anyone could visit an adult site and then get all crazy about what they see or read, is beyond me.

Why do those people come to the site in the first place?

My guess is they come here for the same reason I do, to get turned on, and to wank, lol.

Keep writing, all of you, don't let a few crazies spoil what we've all been enjoying.

I've enjoyed this site for many years; including all of it's story categories, at some time or another.

Write about anything you get the urge to, I can assure you, my imagination isn't afraid to go there, lol.

All the best to you all,
melsdad

The problem is one of definition!

Many story sites have a Slut Wife or Wives category. What is confusing about LW is that you can get a cheating wife story, a swinging wife/couple story, a cuckold husband story or an erotic loving couple story. I believe that the second and third story types belong in other categories (e.g., group sex, nonconsensus/reluctant). The other issue is whether the story is fantasy or drama fiction. They have different standards. A fantasy is intended to be stroke material. A drama where the author is tellling some story intended to resemble real life is where the most "bombs" or harsh remarks because the reader places him or her into the story. Perhaps if authors would label the story upfront then only idiots would respond inappropriately.

I always look at the writing first so even if I do not like the ending I will score the story properly. I have read really good stories in this category and on this site. I hope excellent authors like The Wanderer, DG Hear and others continue to write the drama type loving wives stories. I hope one day the site clarifies this category so that those who want to write slut wives or cuckold husband stories can find another category.

You hit a nerve..I am new here and I am exploring the different story groupings. I hit Loving Wives and to say I was shocked is putting it mildly.
The worst commenst come from Anonymous posters. It might be worthwhile to ban these types of posts.

The only other thing that bugs me about the Loving Wifes forum is how many stoies have husbands with no spine. I realize it is good fantasy but common on are all husbands suppose to be gutless wonders.

What would happen if a spouse really turned the tables on the cheating spouse ?

Like I said, I am new and trying to get the feel for the place.

OK..I will duck and cover now..

Damn, I Had Her In My SIghts, Too!

The problem is that stories are not always posted in appropriate areas. For example, if I wrote a story about a cheating spouse, I'd place it in EROTIC COUPLINGS, as it in no way would belong in LOVING WIVES. But there are those who write cheating stories and post in LOVING WIVES, and those true to the intent of the area have become ruthless their in defense of it. If a writer posting in that area remains true to its purpose, the readers are quite fair in their ratings.

I did write a story that flirted with the "line". I got a mixed review, some liked while some thought I went too far. A frazzled woman returning home by air and stuck in a strange place for a night is drawn to a man, they flirt and touch, but in the end she realizes her love for her hubby and ends things before they get out of hand.

If you have a story you're not sure of, ask your editor or post a thread asking where the best place may be to post.

Thinking myself clever, I've posted in the wrong area before and been spanked hard. But I've learned from that, as will you.

As for men without spines, I don't know. In my mind marriage is an equal partnership, not one dominating the other, and I believe my stories reflect that. Take a peek at any of them that may interest you: http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=479657&page=submissions

And as for the trolls, they're all a part of life. Annoying to be sure, but what would the ocean be if not for the sharks?

Why in the world would you want to ban our great friend Anon? We love telling that clown what a compete idiot he is and how he should go back to he seat on the "short bus". Besides, it you banned Anon comments, he would just make up a whole series of Alts and still make the same ignorant comments.

As far as I can see, if a writer wants to try a topic with some grit to it, this is not the place to publish.

It all depends on what you call "grit". Writers just have to develop a thin skin. I don't write for the readers, I write for myself. If they like what I write, then thats an extra bonus.

Is there a reason we should assume that the ANON's are he's? :)
