'Loving wives'='Cheating wives'???

Oh no I have an idea for a loving wife story, it's an actual loving wife sleeping with a different guy. When I finally do write it up I'll get tons of hate mail I'm sure. :D

that's all the fun though innit?

reading the vitriolic PC's. :D reminds me that there are some total nut-jobs out there.

:D

I think it is good policy for any writer to warn the reader more or less what to expect in a story; either with the title or the description or even an author's note at the beginning. You get fewer chickenshit anonymous commenters that way.

I like reading the comments for those cuckhold stories more than the stories themselves. Boy, some people get really upset by the idea of some guy getting off on watching his wife getting boned. I never understood that level of contempt for someone elses fictional fantasy. I don't care for vampire and werewolf fucking stories (and there are soooo many of them), but I don't waste my time trolling around and insulting people who don't agree with me. I just find something else to read. Live and let live I say.

Good point. Perhaps it should be recategories as "Sharing mates" or "swapping" or "Open relationships"... or something.

some of them comments are pretty hard to comprehend. funny as fuck though.

When the hell did 'loving wives' = 'cheating wives'???

Since Lit first created that category said stories were found there. I even had a FETISHY (both parties of the marriage were into the lifestyle) cuckolding tale dumped in that category against my wishes years ago.

Sure, the category name is a bad choice... It certainly seems like Lit's owners intended for the "cheating wife" stories to enter Loving Wives. Perhaps the name is supposed to be sarcastic? I don't know.

But if said stories "don't belong there" what the hell does? I've wondered for a long time now. WHAT is a "real", good, etc, loving wife tale???

I beleive those are to be found in romantic or erotic couplings. ;)

I am a bit late to this thread.

But from my experience shoudn't a 'true' and 'real' loving wife be someone who is perhaps a wild and senual woman but only for the husband? For instance there are stories on this site that have a wife showing off their bodies for thier pleasure and the husbands pleasure and in some stories they either go home and make mad passionate love to each other or they have sex outside somewhere but is each case no other person is involved.

It's just the two of them. THAT is my idea of a loving wife. Someone who will perhaps be a bit slutty or bit tarty and show off a bit of flesh to someone else if that is what they both want and then they shag each other silly when they get home.,

What annoys me is when someone reads a story that you think is about a loving wife and it ends up with them being swingers? A case of "I still love you darling but I must have other mens dicks, but it's okay you can have other womens pussies to use as you want to!"

And the husband always says, "Okay Honey anything you want!"

But things won't change writers will always have fantasies about seeign their wife have sex with someone else or they will be swingers in real life and write about their adventures. But at least that isn't 'cheating' as such.

Reminds me of the Welsh definition of a good wife:

Devout in the chapel, sharp in the market, and wild in the bed.

i've known the lit powers to slide a slut-wife story or two into LW even when categorically asked NOT to do so.

Still easier to deal with than being bad named, liked Geronimo Appleby. :p

It is my own opinion that many insecure men read the Loving Wives category at Lit even though they "hate" the topic and/or stories therein. Most stories found there are "voted down" unjustly. Meaning someone simply hates the topic, and votes accordingly, even if the author is a good one.

Also, the feedback that is left; be it publically or privately, always comes "anonymously" and is typically vile and quite disturbing. They don't say "I did not like this tale because it was unrealistic" (or other forms of constructive criticism). Instead they say things like "I hope the two-timing tramp (the character) contacts AIDS and dies!" or even "You sick fuck! I hope you die a painful death!" -and typically less legibly/coherently than this, I might add.

That, alone, is why I said "Insecure men are so funny sometimes." It was never an "attack" against you.

To whom were you addressing, sweetheart? I hadn't even considered the possibility that you had a vagina. hyuk hyuk. Seriously.

But yeah, I find that some of the best cheating wives stories are really 'loving couples' (as opposed to 'loving wives') stories without much erotica at all. Whether or not the couple in a story makes up afterward is another matter, but some of the psychological insights make those stories textbook reading for budding the rapists and troubled couples.

For what it's worth:

Yes. I've only recently joined, but I've been reading this site since the very beginning. When the Loving Wives section went up, all the stories were about wives having sex outside of marriage. And, in 99% of those stories, the husband approved, even if he hadn't consented in anyway and was shocked by how much the situation excited him. And readers judged these stories on the literary merits.

Five or six years ago - a guesstimate, but that seems about right - it started to change. The typical story got roasted by anonymous trolls. And revenge stories were posted in ever increasing numbers.

Obviously, a large number of insecure and/or hurt men have decided to let the world know - anonymously - that they won't stand for this kind of thing. Sad.

Then why not have a section on sharing/cheating/swinging? The label 'loving wives (Tales of adventurous married women & their mates)' is too ambiguous, and may contribute to the negative feedback and ratings simply because new readers expected something else. People looking for non-sharing/-cheating/-swinging stories won't have to wade through so many of them in order find the stories that better suit their tastes. 'Insecure' people are part of humanity too as are new readers to the site, so I wouldn't begrudge them for disliking stories that do not suit their tastes or expectations. However, why set them up for disappointment with a category called 'loving wives' when so many of the stories within do not feature loving wives at all. I have read several stories that were competent efforts but featured wives and husbands who utterly detested their mates, period. No love or loving involved at all. It seems to be a system that encourages misunderstandings and low ratings. Flaming assholes do not diminish the poverty of systems design.

Then why not have a section on sharing/cheating/swinging? ....
As I said before in this thread
... There are some 14,000+ stories which would need recategorising. If it takes an average of five minutes to check each story, decide which new category it should be in, and put it there, then it is about a whole employee-year of effort. I suspect that this is a very optimistic rate of working. The problems also remain of the interim, while some are changed and some are not, and the 50 or so new stories per day which are posted.

What snoopy said again. Basically we are trying to say that you can't get a new category, you can't get subcategories, all you can do is use the search feature and wade through alot of crap before finding the diamonds in the rough.

Though do keep in mind the old stories are probably having generic tags added by the system, and at least some of the current authors usually if ever bother to add tags to their new stories. I'm one of the second one there, I don't normally add tags to my stories, though on occassion I'll add one or two if I think of it.

Who cares about the old stories? The way I figure it they could simply add a feature so the authors could change the categories themselves and anything that is on here without an active author can stay stuck wherever. The inability to fix the past is not a good reason to let the future get increasinly screwed. And I've been here long enough to know that we've gotten new categories over the years. Not sure which ones but I know that when I first started reading this site (and shouldn't have been) there was only one screen worth of categories. And seeing how Sci-Fi and Non Human are clearly clone categories I highly suspect that was one of them.

Besides, this brings my question back... If tales of cheating wives, cuckolding, swinging, etc, do not count as "Tales of adventurous married women & their mates", what the hell does? What is the "appropriate" tale that belongs in Loving Wives?

Way I see "Loving wives", there are three interpretations. Wives who love their husbands unnaturally strong, husbands loving wives unnaturally strong, and sarcasm. Even just the first two seem to cover cheating wives, though yes, the name's misleading.
