oppps accidently posted this in bdsm talk i wanted it here lol sorry.
ok something i looooooove is to be tied down/held down...i loooove to struggle... im curious of others share this love with me..im sure others do... so here my question...do u like to be tied down or up for that matter hehe and if u do what is ur favorite way to be in bondage and what is one way u havnt tried but would like to. ok ill answer first like a good girl hehe my favorite way is also the first way i was ever restrained... he grabbed me and pulled my into his lap. i started to struggle to get away but he grapped both of my wrists and crossed my arms. i struggle for a good 20 minutes but he was much stronger than me and eventualy i just gave up satisfied that he was in control and sank down into his lap. hmmm how wonderful hehe... something i would like to try is being suspended by my wrists in the air like in this link.

Her feet are on the ground, BTW. You can't literally suspend anybody by their wrists for an extended period of time without causing damage. That's the kind of thing real torturers do, like prisoner-of-war type torture. You can take most of their weight off, but they have to be able to touch to the ground at least with their toes. In fact, in that picture, you can see that her hands are already turning colors.

Please, please, pretty freaking please, if you don't listen to anything else I share on this freaking site, subgrl, for pity's sake listen to this advice!

The kind of cuffs you just linked to are too
FREAKING DANGEROUS! ! !
to use for real suspension play! ! !

#1 - They do not have nearly enough surface area to support body weight
#2 - They are SLIP CUFFS! They will tighten as the weight increases on them, they will NOT loosen directly as the load comes off.
#3 - They WILL cut off blood flow to the hands, and put increasing pressure on the tendons and nerves below the skin.

Those cuffs are for LOOKS and possible motion restriction ONLY. Do not EVER let anyone try to actually lift you off the ground with them unless you want to run a serious risk of damage to your hands and/or wrists.

If you really want to do wrist suspension (and trust me, there is a HUGE difference between suspension, and restricting movement!) try cuffs like THESE:
http://www.leatheretc.com/Merchant2...98&Category_Code=Suspensions&Product_Count=14
or
http://www.aswgt.com/L075%20Suspension%20Cuffs-new.jpg
or

or

or
http://www.extremerestraints.com/images/resized/s/st550e_274_325.jpg

And yes, the images are all all hotlinked to the various websites that sell those particular suspension cuffs. Please note they ALL have the following similarities:
They are W I D E to provide more surface area to support the wrist
They are all STRAPPED to secure the cuff and keep it from tightening as the load is increased.
They all provide HANDGRIPS (or a wide gripping area in the palm) so that you can support some of your weight with your hands, not just your wrists.

Suspension play is fun, it's wonderful, it's HOT! But not if it gives you (or your partner) permanent nerve damage where you loose feeling in, or use of your hands. For pity's sake, be damned sure that if you are going to do suspension play you do it with someone who at least has a clue about safety issues for that sort of play. This is a hot issue for me because I had friend in wrist braces for about 8 months after she let an idiot try to suspend her using the wrong kind of cuffs... She was lucky the damage wasn't permanent.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled smattering of BDSM chat.

Gosh, EG, I'm confused. I don't think you really mean what you're saying . . . you sound so ambiguous. Are you sure?

What he said, more or less.

But if I was going to hang someone up by the wrist I'd use what he posted.

However, what you hang someone up ON is the really key issue as much as what you hang em up WITH. PLEASE use rated equipment like a bondage spyder or hardware that goes THROUGH and not just INTO a structural beam. Pretty please.

As for the fun part of your post, I like to be bondaged, too. The more bondage on me the happier I am. Mummification and wrapping and bodybags and hoods and I'm game.

Absolutely sure gracie. I'm a sadist, not a sociopath. I like to inflict pain on my partners, not damage. Well... okay... I DO like to inflict damage. Just not the kind that will break my play partners.

When I see something that is patently dangerous, by freaking design no less, I'm going to do everything I can to make people aware of the danger. At least then, if they go ahead and use it, they do so with the knowledge of the risk they are taking.

It's that "informed consent" idea. I can't stop people from making idiotic decisions. But I can damned well inform them just how idiotic it is BEFORE they do it. And then sit back in smug, Darwinian satisfaction and say, "I told you so. SCHMUCK!" as another dose of chlorine hits the gene pool. :D

I have to say that I know subgrl18 pretty well, and she's not like those people that you have to be very forceful with. She's smart, just not very experienced.

awww gracie, *hugs* ur such a sweetie! :rose:

Even if you just have someone standing and hands tied above their head with absolutely no weight on cuffs you still need to use panic snaps like you see on Evil_Geoff's cuffs pic. Because if they pass out, you are going to have a lot of weight there. Depending on how much junk in the trunk.

i just love, love, love to be tied up, down, anywhich way, and blindfolded to boot. i get off on being totally out of control and at the mercy of another...someone i trust of course. i feel it just heightens the feelings and experience. my favorite way is probably very basic, but it is to be tied spread eagle, arms apart on my bed. i bought a canopy bed after my divorce "just in case" :p and it's been put to use a few times :D

One way i haven't tried yet and would like to is just like you. i would love to try suspension, only with safer cuffs and a spreader bar on my ankles.

:rose:

I want to try suspension--like really, really badly. Unfortunately, my right shoulder, which I injured in a riding accident, is prone to popping out at the slightest provocation. (I did it Tuesday while taking off my shirt.) So if I were to do suspension, I'd require a whole lot more "suspenders" (LOL) than the average person. *Pouts*

i am also proned to dislocating my shoulders...i used to be a gymnast and when i would do a backhandspring my shoulders would pop out leaving me on my head. i went to a specialist but he just said i had loose joints... i didnt think of that when i thought id like to try suspension...hmmm

My niece used to have 'loose joints'. She dislocated her elbow, wrestling with her brother, when she was . . . 4? Then she would dislocate it if you looked funny. The dr said that if that didn't stop that she would need surgery.

In other words their is a surgery you can do for bones that easily dislocate.

oh interesting gracie i didnt know that. thanks for sharing

Lots of subs have various forms of disability. Play is always adaptable. We've had threads about BDSM and disability before. Perhaps as an example, you could simulate suspension but not actually put weight on your shoulder joints. You'd still have a beautiful long shape for whipping (which is what I think of that kind of suspension as being good for) but you wouldn't be causing yourself any damage.

Hmmmm.... *ponders a moment*

I could do a rope harness suspension using a torso harness to support most of your body weight, with extra rigging for legs, arms and head/neck.
*nodnodnod* Oh yeah... that could be fun!

Another thing to think on is your ankle. Make sure you're not putting to much strain on it. Standing on your tip toes looks sexy, but it'll wear out your ankle quick.

hmm good thought... didnt think of that either..guess im just gonna have to balance my weight on my left ankle! hehe :nana:

You volunteering? :p

One day I'll have the surgery, but I'm putting it off for as long as I can.
