Work has gone well for me this week. I went into Monday thinking I was swamped with things that had to be done, and it was almost overwhelming. But then I had two days that I was by myself in the office and found that without the normal interruptions, I was able to clear most of that tasks I faced. I don't know if I was more relieved I got so much done, or more proud of myself for attacking the work and coming out as the winner!******
So...
What went well for you this week?![]()
Both! Be relieved as well as proud of yourself!I don't know if I was more relieved I got so much done, or more proud of myself for attacking the work and coming out as the winner!
It’s so true - and this is replicable across other parts of life too - I can think of more personal examples where it’s really helped with your outlook on life (with relationships, grieving, your own skills and talents). I totally believe that you can rewire yourself to be a calmer, more positive person to yourself. So I read an article that talks about a "psychological trick" - here's an extract:
The question you ask determines what it finds.

That's awesome! And as for what went well this week, I’ve conquered come very, very complicated tech-y things I’ve been studying, which is a wonderful feeling!
Thanks for asking.Hopefully some very positive things happening for you this week, too?
But definitely helps when I finally start understanding the stuff I’m learning, hahaHaha if you give me hints how to reduce the size of a pic.Aw, boo! Hotpot pictures in due course, I hope!
It was nice to see her again. That’s very sweet though, I’ve got friends that I don’t see for ages and then we just instantly fall back into familiarity, hopefully felt a lot like that for you too!
Good for you!And I’m taking quite a big course over and above work, so it’s a bit of a crazy time sometimes when it all gets a bit muchBut definitely helps when I finally start understanding the stuff I’m learning, haha
Some follow others hoping they will get followed back. Others hope following someone will them noticed by said person. Just my humble opinion.
yup, this @mention is different, this is when you want to specifically direct a message (or bring attention) to them.I know people can highlight a name like this - @asian2015 and supposedly it sends a message to that person that somebody mentioned them in a thread.
Haha yeah. I don't receive email notifications of new messages/alerts anymore.Seems like every time they do an update, we lose more stuff we can do. Remember when we could make a poll on our posts? That's long gone.
Yes, I know, this forum of mine is not very popular amongst litsters. The one I have as watched is one of the quietest threads on the site, however, so messages are rare.
NO NO NO, I'm not talking about this thread!Yes, I know, this forum of mine is not very popular amongst litsters.

Here's an update about this random following:I'm still wondering why someone "follows" if it doesn't send alerts to the followee... so, what's the purpose of being a follower?
Do you do that through the newsfeed? (and not the alerts, right?)I use follow to easily find threads and messages friends post to or emoji. Just easier than going to their profile page and looking imo

Same back to you as well! I've been struggling with allergy-induced head pressure that seems to be abating. However a very hot and windy day today is not helping.Wherever you are, I hope you have a great day today!![]()
Urgh I hope this finds you feeling better now.Same back to you as well! I've been struggling with allergy-induced head pressure that seems to be abating. However a very hot and windy day today is not helping.
Yeah, I've heard of the drastic temp changes!I've resisted turning my AC on because we're on a big roller coaster of high and low temps. Supposed to be 40F cooler tomorrow.
I'm able to write tonight without too much difficult, so it's getting better.
