Rough. I'm changing the story- mood and tone, and it's going to be much longer, much more in depth. Basically taking a non serious fun story and turning it into a moodier novel/ novella, so it's far more complicated. Challenging but fun to do.
You can do it!
Keep me posted. šŸ™‚

Basically the reasons I said. It's the most interesting and diverse and also the most exotic and untouched.
Ah yes, the "all in 1" you'd mentioned.
Fair point, and I'll agree.
That said, you might consider other countries that also have many of said attractions, and not forgetting great food, with less safety concerns.

Yeah. Okay. If we're both still on Lit I will. It won't happened anytime soon.
Lol cool. I've been on lit a Long time, I should still be around haha.
I only mentioned it due to the security issue, so safer in numbers.
I've never been to Myanmar.

Oh, well I'd be lying if I said there isn't always some shadow of doubt.
Good to be cautious too.

I HAVE considered others, mainly Thailand, but I'm afraid it might be a bit too overwhelming for me. Plus, they're having that conflict with Cambodia now. I almost went to Vietnam, but opted out when I read so many people had their visas rejected. I almost did Malaysia and Java. I thought I don't need a visa to Indonesia, but I DO and I decided Malaysia alone isn't worth it as it has the same kind of attractions I've seen in Taiwan. Coron is too expensive and difficult to get too. Bali I feel would be too much culture shock. Cambodia I mainly just want to see Angkor Wat, but I need a visa and I heard it's dangerous. And Laos and Singapore I'm not even taking into consideration. So I probably won't be visiting anytime soon.

Yeah

Thanks

** For convenience, here's a list of all the topics that we've talked about:

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster? Does the woman who introduced me to Lit count? If so, yes but in reverse order. We dated for a year long-distance, but sadly it ended.
If you did, how did it go?
If you havent, would you? Absolutely. Whether for a rendezvous or just for lunch, I love meeting new people and mingling.
2. Guys, if you send a PM to a woman, are you really expecting a reply or is it "no biggie" if she doesnt send you a reply? How do you feel? I do. Maybe not expect, but prefer. Then again I get it that some guys can’t get a hint. I don’t find any joy in harassing anyone so even if the reply were a polite bow-out, I’d thank them and move on. I feel getting no response makes the original sender feel disposable. Just my opinion, though. It probably helps that I also don’t send dms to anyone lightly.
3. This probably happens with both sexes, but since I generally chat with guys, my question would be: why do guys lie when they chat online? No idea.
4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so. I’ve written stories and published a few here. Most were written as ā€œgiftsā€ to the previously mentioned ex, so I won’t publish them. They are for her. Happy to see decent ratings. I should do more but juggling other life goals atm.
5. Since I'm from South East Asia, have you been to this region? I’ve been to Singapore and The Philippines, but that was quite some time ago. Id love to visit other countries there. The people were friendly and amazing.
Yes? Please share where you've been and what you liked/disliked about it.
No? Well, if you could, where would you go? Why that destination?
6. whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc. I think just the ability to explore kinks in the comfort of my own home and mind.
7. tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about. I’m a middle-aged guy from Texas (USA) currently trying to go back to school to change careers.
8. have you ever been to a lit gathering? I didn’t even know there were such things. I’ll have to see if any are near me.

Not forgetting: do you have any thoughts/questions to ask and share? I’ll have to ponder on this and get back to you. Actually, here’s a nerdy one. What new or upcoming technology are you most excited about?

Let's go...pick one topic and talk about it at length, or answer all, if you like!

i'm bored and would like to chat with someone who's interested in more than sexual chat. (Yes, I know this is literotica) :)

Allow me to clarify: no, we WONT be chatting or role-playing about your fantasies - at least, not on the first chat and not if I dont know you. Thank you for understanding!

Yeah

Thanks
I understand your visa concerns.
That said, countries with eVisa or visa on arrival should be doable, they should be not too complicated.
Why are Laos and Singapore not considered at all?

Angkor Wat is also on my list... one day hopefully.

@MostlyClassy
Hello again.
Thanks for the detailed answers!
To keep it manageable, I'll respond to a few:

2. Maybe not expect, but prefer. Then again I get it that some guys can’t get a hint. I don’t find any joy in harassing anyone so even if the reply were a polite bow-out, I’d thank them and move on. ==> Agreed, there's a difference between a real (polite) PM vs one where it's just one out of a dozen that they send, even worse when they clearly haven't bothered to check one's profile to see if there's a fit.

7.I’m a middle-aged guy from Texas (USA) currently trying to go back to school to change careers.
==> what are you studying?

8. have you ever been to a lit gathering? I didn’t even know there were such things. I’ll have to see if any are near me.
==> haha I don't think it's common.

What new or upcoming technology are you most excited about?
==> ummm I don't know. While I keep an open mind wrt technology, I also feel that, at times, it becomes more tedious with unnecessary additional layers of "security" that are not really that useful after all, it then becomes more of a burden to the consumer.
==> What about you, what new technology has you excited?

I understand your visa concerns.

Yeah. Laos is too communist and underdeveloped. Singapore is boring and an Orwellian dystopian state. I don't wanna get arrested for farting in public, or executed because some asshole put drugs in my luggage. Crazy country! Maybe on a layover and not leave the airport.

I don't wanna get arrested for farting in public,
šŸ˜‚ You're funny.
Crazy country! Maybe on a layover and not leave the airport.
That's actually doable, you know.
Lots to see within the airport, as I'm sure you know.
You can also get on a sightseeing bus - for free - if you have xx number of hours on layover, you might like that.

I was only half joking
I do know. The airport gardens.
Free layover tour sounds great

While I still would like to chat (with the right person/people), this thread has mostly evolved into a form of sharing/discussion. (See below ** for list of topics).

Feel free to contribute here, *in this forum*. Please do not send me the answers in the chat room or through PM/Inbox - I wont be replying from there.

If you'd like to chat, please tell me about yourself as well as what interests you (see Q7). If we match, I'll definitely post you a reply. If PMs are necessary, I'll PM you.

If all you're looking for is to talk dirty, it's probably not going to be with me. I'm not looking for 1 time thrills.

Okay so I have been on a bit of a deep dive and gone through the various posts(and by this I mean all of them) on the thread and I must say it is extremely interesting to say the least. Being new, well not really new since I have been a lurker for a while and just recently decide to post, I would definitely like to get to know some people...so with that inimd, onward to the questions posed...

1: No I have not met a litster but that could probably be due to the fact that I wasn't an active poster. Even the oooold account I had previously was literally just for browsing the forum. Would I meet one? If there is a connection and the feeling is mutual and there is an active desire to further the friendship then the answer would be definitely.

2: Based on my time spent on other forums, I would say that getting a response is again based on of there is a connection or desire to want to know more. If I do send a random pm for whatever reason, then no I am not expecting a response as the random pm could just be me saying thank you or expressing my gratitude or admiration for something.

3: This one is a bit of a sticky question but my thoughts on the matter are as follows: the Internet provides a mask of anonymity that gives people the freedom to be something other than they are. In some cases this could be innocent or harmless but if there is a need for active deception then clearly it is neither innocent or harmless. On a forum like lit, unfortunately, some people feel the need to hide the truth in order to satisfy their urges/needs/desires. My feeling is that if you can't be truthful with a person then don't talk to them.

4: Bering a forumite Virgin as far as posting and participating is concerned I can't really comment on the experience thus far. I am however hoping that this could change as I become more active ( so allow this comment to act as a placeholder for now)

5: No I have not been to South East Asia, but I have always and I mean always wanted to explore the entire region. Apart from the fact if I look deep enough I will most likely find Asian ancestry in my family tree, there are different reasons for wanting to explore the region. Indonesia and Malaysia I would love to explore for the food and culture, Thailand ( I'm a little bit scared of but that's only because you can never tell between a lady and a ladyboy) has a rich culture and history that I would love to experience. Brunei well come one, who wouldn't want to explore one of the wealthiest islands in the world. Myanmar again, culture and history.
Apart from the culture and history oh and food can't forget the food, yes I love to eat and cook good food, the region itself is filled with natural beauty that I would love to experience or share with the right person.

6: Again, can't really comment as far as the forum is concerned, as far as stories, I would say the story a beautiful wish was one of the best for me, just loved the story and the idea behind it as well.

7: Ahhhh the dreaded question, tell me about yourself, I never know what to say when asked this on a forum or online platform. Let's see, I guess you could say I am your average guy that has a love of reading, movies, food, cooking and baking. I'm easy going, open minded and tend not to take myself to seriously when I don't need to. As for what I would like to chat about, let's see what is your favourite local dish or speciality dish? Do you prefer a movie or a book? Does the fresh smell after a rainstorm trigger any memories for you?(Strange question I know but a rainstorm, or a thunder storm specifically, evokes a series of memories for me, both pleasant and painful)

8: As for a lot gathering, no I have never been to one. To be honest didn't even know they were a thing.

Ahhhh (runs my hands together gleefully) now we get to the good part....

What song/genre of music are you listening to currently and has this changed recently. If so why?

Open toe or closed shoes?

How do you manage or handle the monsoon season (if you experience it)?

Have you ever travelled to a different country? If yes where? If not, where would you like to visit and why?

Apologies for the wall of text, I kinda got lost in the responses. It was actually alot longer but I had to actually edit it down lol.

Wondering if anyone is well-versed with Microsoft Office? Have a few questions, not buying or selling, just asking for some insight.

@JustSumGuy_ZA
Hello, Welcome, and Thanks for contributing a post!
It's been a long tiring week, I just wanted to send this for now, will reply again another day, soon!
Hope you're enjoying lit so far.

Lol Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and decided to contribute a post too.

3: My feeling is that if you can't be truthful with a person then don't talk to them.
Agreed, if only everyone followed this.

5: Apart from the culture and history oh and food can't forget the food, yes I love to eat and cook good food, the region itself is filled with natural beauty that I would love to experience or share with the right person.
You ought to!
And Thailand isn't that scary šŸ˜… unless you intend to get up to no good there.

7: As for what I would like to chat about, let's see what is your favourite local dish or speciality dish? Do you prefer a movie or a book?
I wouldn't mind either, though mostly been movies.

Does the fresh smell after a rainstorm trigger any memories for you?(Strange question I know but a rainstorm, or a thunder storm specifically, evokes a series of memories for me, both pleasant and painful)
If you're up for it, feel free to share.

8: As for a lot gathering, no I have never been to one. To be honest didn't even know they were a thing.
Lol I think it's very uncommon.

Open toe or closed shoes?
Open toe mostly.

Have you ever travelled to a different country?
Yes, I've been to multiple countries.
My last overseas trip was to China, went to a few cities/provinces.
The main attraction was the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in Hunan province, which is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its thousands of towering quartz-sandstone pillars, which inspired the "Hallelujah Mountains" in Avatar.

Apologies for the wall of text, I kinda got lost in the responses. It was actually alot longer but I had to actually edit it down lol.
No apology necessary, thanks for posting.

Hope you enjoy your time on lit.

Mornings from my side of the world.

So you are a traveller, that's awesome. I would love to do that and experience all the different cultures I have always wanted to see the black beaches of Japan. Just something about it that seems cool.

I'm an open toe man myself as well🤣 if given the choice a shorts t shirt and plakkies would be my dress code.

I hope that you got some shots of those pillars they sound awesome.

Btw what time is it there at the moment, trying to work out the time difference

So you are a traveller, that's awesome.
I've travelled some, would be even better if I could travel much much more. Not so easy for a single woman in today's world, and always nicer to have a companion along.

I've not heard about this!

I did, but there's much more than just the pillars.
Personally, I enjoyed the longest glass bridge; zip-lining across the canyons/mountains; as well as the outdoor elevator and the "slide" DOWN, amongst others. Lots of info online to see all these. šŸ™‚

Time difference with South Africa - I'm 6 hours ahead, GMT+8.

Well I came across the black beach a looooong time ago and was fascinated with it. Would so love to check it out

You sound a little bit like an adrenaline junky...but then again if I was presented with the opportunity to zip line across a canyon there is no way I would turn it down lol

Nice! Will have to find out about this more when I have time.

šŸ˜‚ā˜ŗļø

Exactly, right?? šŸ˜†

Dad was on this trip, and he did it too! They snap you into the "chair" in seconds, and off you go across! It's a little scary tbh, but it's also so so fast that you're across before you know it haha.

Where would you travel to next?

Chatting is done in the chat rooms. This is more like if you get REALLY lucky you might get a pen pal.

Question:
Being on lit, what have you realized about the different personalities here? Has it (anyone, any personality) encouraged you or, alternatively, pissed you off?

You're quite welcome. I'll "take a stab" at one of your questions and we'll see how it goes...

4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so.

Hmmm... Probably the best single word description of my experience on Lit would be "mixed". Do keep in mind that I've been active on Lit less than a year, so factor that into my thoughts. I heard about Lit from a friend on FetLife when I was complaining that Fet was mostly pictures, requests for hookups, and self-promotions. Not that anything is wrong with those things, just not what I was looking for (though I do enjoy some of the pictures...:)). My friend suggested that Lit might be more of interest to someone hoping to make a connection with interesting friends. I think the simplest way to explain what I'm looking for is: friendships with women in which discussion of sexual interests is not forbidden, but overall, is a minor part of the relationship. I tried some of the "chat rooms" here and found them to be both a bit overwhelming and boring. So, I decided to try a "personal" in the Literotica Forums and I set up:

"Older Male Seeking Female Friends Who Can Tolerate "Dad Jokes"

This has been fun, funny, and interesting. I've laughed out loud at some of the "dad jokes" that have been posted by others and shared them with my wife. I have found a few individuals, who self-identified as women, that I have actually had interesting, and repeated, "chats" with. None of these chats have involved "cybersex" (not really what I'm interested in), but there have been occasional discussions of sexual interests, which I guess is what I am (although I'm not sure why...šŸ¤”) interested in. Anyway, I have not found Lit to be"panacea" - or any other type of sea-ah...šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø, but occasionally I really enjoy spending some time here. Yet...in the words of U2 - "I still haven't found what I'm looking for".

You're quite welcome. I'll "take a stab" at one of your questions and we'll see how it goes...
Great! Thanks for sharing, and contributing a post here.

Question for you: why do you need to look for this? Feel free to PM iro this, if you'd rather not the whole lit-world read about it.

I tried some of the "chat rooms" here and found them to be both a bit overwhelming and boring.
Right, I'd say the quality of lit chat rooms have changed over the years.

So, I decided to try a "personal" in the Literotica Forums and I set up:

"Older Male Seeking Female Friends Who Can Tolerate "Dad Jokes"

I might have noticed this forum of yours but don't think I've visited it, as I normally just pop by here a few minutes.
You've done well on it, it's less than a year and already double the number of posts compared to mine!! šŸ˜–šŸ«£šŸ˜Š

I have found a few individuals, who self-identified as women, that I have actually had interesting, and repeated, "chats" with.

"I still haven't found what I'm looking for".
Why not, didn't you just say (as extracted above) that you've found a few individuals? Sounds like they match what you're looking for.
šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

This got lost in between other posts.

Anyone?
