Looking to bring "softcore" back with these fantasies...

How to best phrase this? Hey there, I suppose I'm here tonight to ask for your pen, your quill... more likely, your computer keys. I'm a lover of erotica, mostly because porn has run so dry for me that I can predict most of the endings. Ok, maybe we can all predict the endings but nevertheless, what makes me different is my passion comes from "late-night" movies of the early century that feature actual plot and sex littered throughout real-world scenarios.

They were always the most exciting, until they too were eclipsed by boring porn.

So, my ask tonight is simple: if you hold some love for softcore and are half decent with a writing stick, I'm asking to be satisfied. I have many prompts that I want to see brought to life in vivid detail, (environments, characters, etc)

Some of these prompts include:

1. A shy young woman recently dumped by her ex is coaxed by her best friend into watching her and her boytoy make love, in an effort to light a fire in her once more.

2. A man stuck in a dead-end marriage begins an online affair with a mysterious woman from an adult site... until that woman comes for a visit.

3. A pair of couples take a weekend retreat together in a lavish hotel, only to find themselves swapping for a steamy rendevue when the clock strikes midnight.

..... and trust me, there are many many more, but just to give you some idea of the vanilla fantasies I have.

The thing about softcore, at least from my casual experience, is filmmakers working within decency and censorship policies, yet still try and make something erotic. Which meant "no visible penetration of any kind" in 95 percent of the movies I've seen on late TV. Exceptions were a few French and Italian uncuts which I caught via satellite. To make up for the lack of "the goods", the difference was made up through exotic locations, beautiful performers and... let's call them... "interesting" camera angles to distract from the dry-humping. Seriously, I have never seen so many lesbian sex scenes where women came from having their breasts played with. :)

Don't get me wrong - I'm not mocking your preferred subject. What I'm trying to get at is that softcore, at least to me, is highly audio-visual. Also a little sterile and overly glitzy. Trying to write a softcore-movie like story - to me - would be very difficult. Granted, your story hooks are workable, but how would you deal with the sex? The moment you go into detail how John slowly puts his ten-inch-dick into Mary's freshly shaved pussy under the neon-lit shower, you're basically putting the camera into close-up mode, ergo hardcore. But if you only hint at what's happening under the sheets as Max joins Kirsty under that quilt, you're rendering the whole setup kinda pointless. Sure, there are degrees of filth - a sex scene where lots of juices go everywhere "feels" different from one where "cum" isn't even mentioned, but I'm not sure if my pencil is sharp enough for that. :)

Might be a fun challenge though - when my backlog is cleared.

"Softcore" makes no sense to me at all in the context of the written word.

Romance novels, I suppose, are softcore. There's sex, but it's packaged in a light, and not overly realistic way, so it can be shoehorned into a genre and sold to a particular audience.

"Softcore" in films is made the way it is to get past the censors. The market for stories is different.

Can you tell exactly what you mean by "softcore?"

In videos, "softcore" means "no visible penetration" (as Blind_Justice pointed out), but visibility is pretty meaningless in written erotica. "Emmanuelle" was a softcore movie, but there was a lot of sex in the movie, and it explored a wide range of interests.

Are you interested in stories that explore the relationships and the emotions more than the sex? Does explicit sex have to be absent? Do you want the setup and the aftermath, but not the sex?

I agree, soft core to me in Literotica can be something as simple as not using words like cunt, (always a turn off), and more ‘crude’ writing.

Like for example: Zack rammed his huge cock in Jemma’s tight as fuck cunt. Now that I consider porn.

Erotica writes that in a classier way.

Yes, I see most romance novels with sex as softcore. I write here because I always was bugged by softcore sex descriptions. I don’t find them particularly erotic. More frustrating to be honest. Lol.
