This was George W Bush on the campain trail in 1999. I found some of his comments to be real interesting in retrospect. It's probably not anything you don't already know, but what most interests me is that this is an article that ran in Salon News of all places!

I like George Bush. He has a strong set of core convictions, including a significant religious faith, but he is also genuinely tolerant, open and warm-hearted toward people with whom he disagrees.
