Loaded Question

no...his give to everyfucking needy person is a democratic view, also his never admitting to who he is...or what he is...sounds like Bill Clinton syndrom to me

Jesus Christ that is a loaded question

:p

yes, just ask me

There were a few political groups around when Jesus was alive. The Pharisees and the Sadducees were the most powerful groups in the Jewish culture and they cooperated with the Roman government to ensure that the State of Israel could keep its claim on the land and continue is religious practices. A couple of outsider political groups were the Zealots and the Essenes - both were anti-roman and were either willing to fight against the Roman government or were waiting for an apocalypse which would overthrow the Roman leadership. Jesus himself was a Jew, but it is speculated that he studied with the Essenes for a while before his ministry started. Also, some people think that Jesus traveled widely as a youth with his uncle, Joseph of Aramithea, who was a prominant Jewish merchant. Among the places Jesus supposedly visited, England and India were influential on his world view and his philosophy. My view is that somehow Jesus absorbed the mysticsm that was prevalent in the Far East- be it Buddhism, Taoism, or Hinduism - and used such philosophies to craft his own message. This message was brought to the West by his followers and now Christianity is as much a political movement as it is spiritual.

PJ O'Rourke wrote that Republicans were like an Old Testament God - somewhat merciless but reinforcing that only individuals can control their own destiny and receive stuff through hard work. Democrats were like Santa Claus - things could be given to people without knowing where they came from or how they were paid for. In all respects, Santa Claus is better than God except for one. There is no Santa Claus.

PJ tells it better, of course, but the line is awfully cute and close to being relevant to the posted question.

I think Siren got it right. And Jesus sure as hell wouldn't be a Democrat, what with an Orthodox Jew on the ticket. And He sure as hell wouldn't support a Republican presidential candidate who hung out at Bob Jones U.

I do believe Jesus' preference would be for a female presidential candidate, one who uses Magic. I'm sure you all are familiar with the Dead Sea Scroll fragment attesting to Jesus' fondess for Mary Magalene's nekkid pussy.

Hey, iamhambone, what a load of crap you said about Jesus and eastern mysticism. You sound like Peter Jennings and those idiots from the Jesus Seminar.

Wait a minute. Jesus was a jew and he wouldn't be a democrat because there's an Orthodox Jew on the ticket? Wouldn't have anything to do with a cross and a few nails, would it?

Jesus - definitely a Democrat and I hear he's got a yen for Tipper Gore's nekkid pussy.

God - definitely a Republican and I hear he's got a yen for George W.'s nekkid ass.

Or is that Deborah? :)
