Sometimes there are little things that you don't think about, but then when they happen, they're awesome and bring your mood up a few notches.

I was drawing. A few months ago I cut my hair for my grandma's funeral to 'generic dude cut". So now that it's growing out again, the bangs are annoying as fuck. I don't like bangs. Bangs look really shitty on men. But I don't want to keep my hair short, so you HAVE to have bangs until they kind of merge back and stop being 'bangs' and start being 'hair' again. They're in your goddamn eyes, blocking vision, and if you bend your head down, to draw or write or whatever it's much worse. I had gotten to the point where I kind of folded them over into the top of my glasses, which looks fucking retarded, but works. Well, I just went to push my damn hair out of my face behind my ear, and it stayed there. It's now long enough that I can DO SHIT without being blinded. So yeah. It's a tiny little thing, but it makes my mood better. I'm sure other people have little shit like this. So... tiny positive shit thread.

Your Grandma did not know you cut your hair...

So who did you cut it for?

It's a culture thing. We cut our hair out of mourning. And it wasn't going to hurt my job at the time.

But somehow it's symbolic to cut your hair for funerals.

The last funerals I attended looked more like Duck Dynasty meets the WWE.

I was the only one in a suit aside from the preachers...

I didn't wear a suit, but I wore a dress shirt and dress pants. Most people didn't. But you don't cut our hair to be neat and tidy, you literally cut it to symbol respect somehow. The women do it to.

I always wanted bangs. They don't work because they always stick up and part in two places.
---

It's good to appreciate the big things too, like walking, breathing, and the ability to hold a spoon.

Dear god why?
Why would you want them?

i appreciate the sweet, crisp taste of the grapes i am putting in my mouth.
...even though they don't choke me and make my eyes bulge when they squirt down the back of my throat.

I take my grapes in liquid form, and I appreciate each sip.

I have a new puppy that gives me great pleasure. My last dog died a year ago at the age of 15. I decided to wait a while before getting a new dog

She is happy, loving and is self house trained. She learns quickly and loves to cuddle. Life is good.

I always, always appreciate little texts or emails during the day asking how I'm doing. From friends and family but certainly from anyone I'm interested in. I don't ever take that for granted.
