Invading my physical personal space? No. Just. Don't. Do. It. I especially don't like it if I have not given you explicit approval that it is welcomed. If I can help it, yes. I am quite vocal with my preferences and there isn't much negotiating around it. I don't care if you're on the approved list, invade away. ;)

Mine is mine. I have spaces where I'm not so covetous of my area in them. I have lots of friends who are a kissy, huggy group, so invasion of space is inevitable. Eventually I retreat to my room or my bathtub and that's just for me.

I do have to make sure that I get the time required by myself before I become hostile about people in my face.

*also following up on LS post- the metal ones ALWAYS feel huge at the beginning. Even the little ones. I think it's the weight of them.

What is one change that could happen around Lit that would cause you to stop showing up? Fees, adds in the threads, random survey questions....etc
 
I don't mind at all, I hope they put up some nice decorations and put down some nice examples of their merchandise …

Number one to keep me away from Lit would be fees. Number two random survey questions.

If I suddenly had to give an RL address while logging in, I would stop the procedure and wouldn't repeat it.

Ads I could live with, as long as they didn't pop up inconveniently. I remain amazed that the site has lasted this long, in a world where so many are trying to make big bucks from apps and subscription sites. I'm sure Lit requires a fair amount of upkeep etc, for no financial reward. I'd be concerned about links which might not be safe.

If I had to nominate one thing, providing identifying information such as a phone number or address or credit card details would turn me away.

With this sponsorship, Chained, will you share any free samples?
 
Ads and survey questions would put me off. I find both crazy aggravating, and since Lit is relaxation time for me, that would be a problem. Personal information, too. I like my privacy. My SO knows I’m here, but that doesn’t mean I want all and sundry privy to my personal business.

Still, the site must require some coin for upkeep. I wouldn’t object to a small fee, provided it could be done without my credit card number or some other potential breach to privacy.
 
Pop up ads would bother me. A small fee would probably be ok...I'm invested in lit after three years so I'd probably put up with a bit more than if I was new to the site.
I feel like the story side has more stuff...ads, paid Web cams...etc., that support our quiet corner of the lit world and I'm grateful.
 
I'm cheap, so a fee would probably turn me away. As to personal info, sometimes I feel like I am an open book already, and the man already knows what I'm up to. Even identity thieves don't want to be me....
 
Pop ups are annoying, so are flashing banner ads.

Considering the number of Lit members who frequent the site, what if it was only a dollar or two a month? I might pay a small access fee to mingle and read the stories here.

you do have a point there.....I guess it would depend. I would pay extra not to have to see Pmann's junk, though!
 
I can't find the original post but the personal space question...

If my personal space is invaded I basically freak out. I don't have anything to hide but I need designated space that's respected as my own.

Years and years ago I was living with a girlfriend who felt it was okay to take a garbage bag to my belongings. She said something about how I need to learn to "make sacrifices". So she went through my stuff she "didn't get" and through them out. This led to a huge fight and ultimately my stuff stayed. (We shortly ended things after that. She was basically nuts.)

Years before that I remember my parents cleaning out my closet and throwing away belongings of mine without asking me first while I was at work. Like posters and CDs of mine and, most humiliatingly, they went through my porn stash. It was deeply embarrassing and really fucking humiliating. Even talking about it today is upsetting.

I talk about these things jokingly now but the truth is is that both of these things deeply upset me and caused me a shit ton of anxiety. They pretty said "I don't respect your space and I dont give a fuck about your feelings". There's absolutely no shame in needing your own space. And people that don't respect your space, especially after you set boundaries, aren't worth having around.

But you'd have a hard time outbidding the girls here who pay me to post it. But an all out Pmann dick bidding war would be class.

I would've collected that girl and thrown her out with the trash. Who fucking does that?
 
A fee would kill it for me because it would require payment/paypal and there is no way I could hide that from the hubs. :cool:

I would also like to volunteer myself as a sample product tester. :D

I would like to volunteer as quality control for all the product testers....just to make sure they are using them correctly
