Okay, good. So my answer is: Sometimes. Prior authorization required. The word "gaping" must never be uttered. And a little weed, a great deal of lube and some Al Green playing in the background always helps.

I feel like C Diddy just didn't wanna give us a question, so he gave us some existential bullshit. I'm on to you Papa...

All of the above except, to take a direct quote from Eminem, "a little weed mixed with some hard liquor" would be more apt for myself.

And maybe no Al Green....:)

Anyone can answer a question. I'm looking for those today that can step up and interpret.

Suz_anne is the only one that accepted the challenge. :)

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

-William Blake

A perfect stanza for a perfect day. Go make it happen.

See, I thought it meant that foreplay is overrated and often drawn out much longer than necessary. "Seize the moment!"

I didn't catch the anal reference. *hangs head in shame*

;)

I also missed the anal reference. *joins VT in corner of shame*

Possibly because I have no...ummm...anal referencing experience. And may not get any if the need for weed, hard liquor, and the word "gaping" are universal requirements!

Hey!

Well, I was going to be insulted...until I remembered just how rarely you manage to answer a question. :D

If I may offer my thoughts~ I think this passage is saying that we often see things like beauty and happiness in our mind on a vast larger scale and if we can just look to the smaller, more intimate things closest to us, we can see and experience the very same things.....

Not sure if that makes sense but it's what I was thinking....:)

The only sections of this poem I've ever been able to remember are the beginning (which Chainey quoted) and a section near the end:

Every Night and every Morn
Some to Misery are Born.
Every Morn and every Night
Some are Born to sweet delight.
Some are Born to sweet delight,
Some are Born to Endless Night.

~William Blake

I think he was secretly calling you out. ;)

I think it's all about potential, and possibilites. The world is loaded with possibilities, if we only learn how to look, and how to recognize all the infinite opportunities in our life.
(Sorry, I didn't get anything anal from it at all.:eek:)

Yes, indeed. :rose:

Endless Night, your name is in this poem. :)

Hmmmm. Somehow I doubt even the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent Chained knew for sure this was where my name came from. :D

Besides, what's wrong with PM?

Yes, indeed. :rose:

My name choice was promoted by this particular passage. :)

Possibly the only poetry I know. Wait. Can I count the The Highwayman? I learned it in seventh grade and it is still stuck in my head.

Let me think about that for a minute.

He couldn't possibly know. But ... he did know. Which means you must be his alt? Or he's your alt? Which means that Pman is your alt, not his ...

But I thought you were Collar's alt ???

Collar ... Cuffs ... Chained ... Pmann (poetry man?) ...

My head hurts now. I blame Chained. Or Collar. Or both. Unless they're the same person.

Ughhhh!!!!

Hehe...funny not so funny, VT.

I was contemplating taking a break from Lit, but I couldn't resist commenting on italiansexylady's interpretation (nice name, by the way. We have something in common). But this reminds me, there does seem to be an inauthentic feel to this place at times, except for a few exceptions.

Holy Cow! I am Chained's alt?

I'm still reeling from the announcement that I am Collar's alt. Her male alt!

I think I'm having an identity crisis....

Wait a minute. Pmann is Chained's alt?????????? *faints*

I...I...I...am thoroughly confused.

That darn Collar! I say we blame her. :p

< I was contemplating taking a break from Lit >

Oddly, I've been contemplating a little break of my own. Coincidental? Maybe it's just that time of year....

Yes, or perhaps I'm just ready to go back to the days when I was more of a lurker and less of an interactor. I can't resist topics such as poetry, and soulmates, and music, threads that present opportunities for helping others, and of course, dominance and submission. My self control is just not that strong. *wink*

Several of the posters I interact have either left the board or rarely log in. A couple I communicate with more off-board. I'd been considering a break when Chained restarted Litiquette. Lured back by that daily question! I'm so easy.

But...more time focused on work wouldn't be a bad thing. I mean, there is shopping to consider. It's been...

*counts*

...six months since I've bought shoes!

(Sorry, I didn't get anything anal from it at all.:eek:)

Whew! *wipes brow*

At least it wasn't just me. Oh, and VT. :)

Endless, I have only communicated with one member here off board. It was shortly after I joined. It was an experience, to say the least, an experience in just how naive and inexperienced I really was, and possibly still.am, in the online world.

If it turns out to be a while before I see you again, I leave you with some words of wisdom...

For goodness' sake, try anal!!!

Haha! (Hugs)

1) Anal works well with everything
2) sometimes pretty prose needs no interpretation
3) anal works well with everything

For what it's worth, it sometimes feels that way to me too. I think that's one of the reasons why I've tended periodically to disappear from Lit for a while -- so that I can immerse myself fully back in the real world and purge myself of the accumulated feelings of artificiality. :(

Fortunately, I've recently had the uplifting experience of meeting in real life my first two Litsters, and confirming that they really are exactly as I imagined them (including being lovely). :)

It's not always easy to indulge in "deeper" topics here. As I've said before, the threads that I find most interesting tend to get buried under a pile of superficial ephemera and thereby fall by the wayside. I'm not really complaining, though, as I understand that the site is more about fun and flirting than solving the mysteries of the universe.

I'm really sorry to hear that. :(

Thank you. It's okay. I'm a sensitive person, and yes, a bit naive at times. It's just one of the downfalls.

And thank you for sharing your experience and perspective. It's always nice to read your thoughts. :rose:
