Good morning everyone. When you awoke this morning did you consciously make a decision regarding Lit? Did you tell yourself that you need to cut back? Do you have plans to meet someone. Is it a slow day, and you're just going to surf the boards? Do you know you're going to have a busy day and that only quick peeks at best?

How well do you control your online life?

I control it pretty well, I think. I won't open Lit if I have other things to take care of though, I know too well how easily I get distracted here and spend more time at Lit than I planned.

Conscious decisions I do make sometimes (regarding Lit too), but didn't this morning. I had quite some chores to do, and knew the afternoon would be to my disposal, to do with as I felt like.

My usual plan is to pop in when I can. It's my little getaway between meetings and presentations at work. At home, it's part of my late night quiet time.

Today ... I'm working from home. I'm planning to perv here most of the day. Consider yourself warned.

I have fallen off my provocative game. Only three replies. Hmmm, what deep seeded concern lies within the hearts of you all?

So apparently yesterday's question wasn't easily discerned amongst all the rambling. I'll seek clarity today. How do you handle when "going to the next level" doesn't really work for you? Maybe it's from text to voice and the voice is like fingernails on a blackboard to you. Or voice to cam and you see something in the other person that you can never "unsee". Do you tell them straight up, look for another reason that it's not going to work, or just let things fade off into the sunset.

It's sometimes tough to be honest because regardless of how you may feel about the other person, you don't want to deliberately hurt someone else. If the relationship has progressed to a level of intimacy where you're sharing your life outside of Lit, they deserve to have that difficult conversation where you tell them as kind as you can be where you are. It may not be easy, but BOTH of you deserve that. If you've shared much, they'll know if you're being truthful and if you're not. Give them the opportunity and the respect to know the real reason behind it. Wouldn't you want that for yourself? In addition, this allows for both parties to move forward without much regret and much contemplating as to what they could have done better. Regret sucks on both ends. I've been there, done that, got the t-shirt and have donated it to goodwill.

Walking away without a word just seems like the wrong thing to do in my opinion. I know that we all do things on impulse at times, heck, I'm so guilty of that. But regardless of what the reasons are, we still need to aim to do right by the people we make connections with. After all, at one point, they were significant in our lives.

I don't make a conscious effort, I just go with the flow. If I'm not busy, I spend more time than I normally would.

Those pants are inspiring me for a carnival costume ...
I have some old stretchy jeans leggings. I could easily saw some black bands on it and some silvery tassels. A pink sweater and I am done!

I think we all survived Suz_anne's fashion sense with minimal scars :)

Scars. An outward(mostly) symbol of something difficult, something we had to overcome. While our most joyous times are basically invisible, nothing but an internal feeling. Wouldn't it be great if we could see remnants of everyone's joys as well or instead of their scars?

What about smile-wrinkles? Or whatever they're called. You know, those crows feet wrinkles you get by your eyes when you laugh and smile. Those'd work, right... as remnants of joy?

Scars. An outward (sometimes) symbol of something difficult, something we had to overcome. A physical reminder of strength and courage - and the ability to trust others to carry us when the rest of life seems too unbearable. Don't see your scars as ugly proof that you were once a victim. See them as a reminder that you were worth fighting for.. and let that be reason to smile.

We definitely do have to look harder at people for signs of happiness but I think we need to recognize in ourself what happy or joyous things do to our bodies. Someone else started a thread about stretch marks and how they liked them. And another man posted that he loves seeing them on his wife's tummy because he knew he made her pregnant....made life with her. Pffylerhot mentioned wrinkles.....caused by happiness....
We are so focused on erasing life's marks from our bodies we sometimes forget the reason we have them.

edit....this made me think of my scars....i have one that bugged me for years on my knee.....but now when I think of it I remember how I got it...racing to meet my school friends. ...in primary....such a rush to see them....and how I'm still friends with them today....some of us with kids older than I was then....
