One of the great things about lit is that typically whatever your mood you can find company to match roaming the hallways. In RL, it's so much tougher to find a compatible mood in someone. I think that's one reason why online hook ups happen so much easier here. But is that "okay", is it okay to essentially use lit to soothe/amplify your mood, or should one seek comfort in more traditional ways?

I think it is perfectly fine to find like minded people and enjoy Lit, and use it in that capacity. Human sexuality is too often underutilized. We need balanced lives, and many people today completely ignore their sexuality, unfortunately. Lit definitely helps with that.

I think we should use whatever is available to us. What if women never used the first dildos? or men, the first blow up dolls Why not use what's right in front of us? As long as you both understand and agree to the expected outcome of the hook-up (as in one time fling, on going, etc) and it feels good, go for it!

And add that it also works very nicely for rants and blurts and sighs and fucks (in the non-sexual sense) and games and whatevers, every time you need someone in the same mood you have at the moment, you'll find someone here. The pool is just a touch bigger on Lit than in RL.

In RL your dear ones might not be around to rant with you, or they are too dear to you to rant at, or they aren't in a ranty mood but in a games mood!

I'm not convinced that it is always possible -- or desirable -- to find someone here to match one's mood. I've been away from Lit for a couple of weeks due to a series of RL setbacks, and I don't believe that it would have been helpful for me to find someone here to mope with. I think it's "okay" to use Lit in that way, but it didn't seem appropriate for me on this occasion.

I must add that I am one of the many women in the world who can credit a vibrator for changing sex from duty to hobby.
