I don't think this is exclusively partners, sometimes I've backed off friendships because they are just too much.

It just all becomes too overwhelming for an introvert.

Have you ever had a lit partner that once you consent to playing with, was just too much. Too intense, too demanding, too wanting, too cuddly, too orgasmic inducing....too anything?

Is it a blessing and you ramp yourself up to handle it next time or is it more than you can take, if so do you try and discuss it with them or just move on?"

Could you grammar check that? Sorry, does not compute

Anyway, what is this with lit partners? Is it just me? Do most people have partners here?

To me it became more clear with a comma...and a with. So I just added to make sense in my head.

I've had lit friendships where I could tell the other person was hoping it would go somewhere. I hate the feeling of trying to have an everyday conversation that i constantly have to steer in a non sexual direction.
As far as lit playmates....the only thing I find too much is my inability to be spontaneous or 'commit' because of family and work responsibilities.

Ok - sorry Chainey, I wasn't being snarky, I just didn't get it.

All the same, I'm intrigued that folks get into those situations.... although, I recently got into a PM exchange that was from a zealot that just kept going on about a topic in which I had zero interest. I replied a couple of times out of politeness, but then I stopped. That was too much, so I suppose that counts.

I can relate to that picture in so many ways, thank you!

Being a raging introvert (is that even a thing?) I get overwhelmed easily. With my schedule and my complete lack of alone time it's often hard to meet the "demands" of friends here. I've had one or two that I REALLY wanted to have the time and energy for, but just didn't have it to give. yeah, I'm lookin at you. I think in another space in time I would deal with it much better than just fleeing all together, but such is life.

I'll just say not really. As a raging extrovert, it's easy for me to make friends. Maybe I'm the one who's the problems for all the introverts. :D

I haven’t formed many Lit friendships, so don’t have a lot of experience in the “too much” department. But being an introvert, if I’ve bothered to form any any type of relationship, my natural inclination would be to try and work things out. And I’m definitely not one to move on without some type of explanation. That would just seem…not polite. :(

The cartoon is beyond spectacular! :)

I don't have "playmates" and I hate that term more than I hate the word panties but I digress...

I do back off all interactions with it becomes apparent there's no chemistry or common ground in friendships, or when it's clear to me they're just looking to me for some e-sexy time. I hate it when you're starting to get to know someone and then suddenly they act like you're obliged to continue to do so, or if you don't message back straight away the world has ended.

There is such a thing as too needy, people.

Thank god....someone else who hates the word panties.....i always feel like a twat when I say it.

(I also did agree with much above, lest anyone think all I saw was paaaaaanties)

I just took the test, and that's what it says.

wait....there was a test? * *finds and takes test*

INFP

Take one version of the test....here...
http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

took mine years ago at University, then again in grad school. I think tests such as MB, DiSC, etc...do have merit when used as tools to interacting with others. They're certainly not the end all be all, but they can be useful.

*cheers for INFP*

Right now, though, I'm thinking "I" stands for "insomniac"..

Lol

I think rather than take a quiz and find out my personality label, I'd value more how I was perceived by others. As often times what is projected is what I want yo project.

And while it's fairly common for people to say they don't care what people think of them, we all care. Each and every one of us.

What personality trait that if you found out you were projecting, you would immediately try to change.
