...really...no one wears ridiculousness here.

Using Aquagal's comment as a jumping off point. Where do you Litsters draw the ridiculous line around here? I know it all depends on what lens you see things though but where is that line for you. I'll take the easy one:

couples turning any particular thread into their public hotel room. I know there are some threads where that's the premise and that's fine in those threads. But in any other thread when the flirting goes to that next level I think it's ridiculous when it plays out in the thread.

I define a troll as someone who intentionally tries to piss people off on a thread by spewing angry/mean posts, and/or tries to deliberately provoke an angry response from someone, on topic or not.

I just had one ruin a thread of mine. The thread had basically run its course, so not really a big deal, but I couldn't help giving him/her one response. I just couldn't let a comment go, so I engaged. What are these people about? I honestly don't get it. They can't possibly be that angry i real life, can they?

That tool... He poses as a girl and a guy when he posts. Oh man that guy was an idiot. Anyone who thinks Christina Hendricks is fat is a troll. And my enemy.

Anal Fisting. That's the ridiculous line for me. And I've seen it more than once on this site. That's just so crazy to me. I know, I'm vanilla.

Ugh, I HATE that. sometimes I've gone into a board where people seem to be doing that, try to interact and been totally ignored by the couple who would rather continue their game of one-on-one.

Seriously, PMs exist for a reason.

Yes, this. Here's where I like to insert comments in between their love fest. Not necessarily or always at them, but to break up the mood, that momentum...because I can.

Some Blurty thread:

Her: "Oh baby, your turgid cock rod is screaming for release...mmm...mmm"

Me: "So I just spent the last hour picking up a week's worth of dog turds."

Him: "Oh Creampuff, I'm so hot for you, let me slide in and out of your love button til my baby seed drips out for me to lick up...oh yeah...mmm..."

Me: "Did anyone see that episode of Man vs Wild where he ate the live maggots...mmm...mmm"

I'll admit, if I am in the right mood, that I like being highly flirtatious on some threads, Arouse me in Five Words in particular. It's fun to develop a rapport and get a flow of exchanges going. However, I am mindful that if it goes on for a while that others may feel that they can't jump in. Regardless of the intended nature of the thread, sometimes I'll drop out for a while to give someone else a chance to play. And if someone else comes along, and is willing to join in the spirit, not completely change the direction or come up with comments about dog dropping collections (funny as that might be), I always welcome it.

There are times when I might be keen to play but see two or three people clearly in the middle of an interesting flow of exchanges and I will leave them alone, let them have their fun for a while. I know some people like to watch these things unfold. However, if those exchanges become truly very graphically intimate, to me, it's a mood killer.

I can admit that on more than one occasion someone has piped up suggesting the other Litster and I get a room (for me, this brings a complete halt to the engagement). However, usually, I will call an end to the game, and it is a game, before matters become too intimate. Once I did just that, only to be replaced by a couple with no such boundaries.

So where do I draw the line? For me, what I would do or say only behind closed doors stays behind closed doors. I might allude to particular likes, but my most intimate reactions and responses, my innermost desires, are entirely private and left for genuine moments of intimacy, even online.

As for Lit couples playing out their relationship in the threads, I do wish they would be more discrete. By all means flirt with each other a little, some PDA if you think it helps, but just like seeing dirty laundry, real and figurative, I think many reveal more than anyone else wants to, or cares to, see.

I thought so. Early threads he seemed a man, recently he's posed as a lady, and not very convincingly, at least on those blowjob threads. Pu-leez. lol

And Christina Hendrix is smoking hot.

I've seen some quite disturbing threads appear in Fetish recently: a 'mother and rented out son' struck me as either trolling, damned lies … or maybe one of those people who appear on 'Would you Believe It - Weird Families' on the cheap TV channels?

I hate threads that promote self-harm, such as the anal fisting Pmann mentioned. Just occasionally someone will step in to call them out as talking bollocks, but not often - maybe because people feel they're obliged to remain open-minded.

As for the flirting threads that become personal blogs: I can see it happening in the heat of the moment but when it goes on for days, then it's just a thread to avoid. There's good flirting and bad flirting: some people flirt really well both in life and online; some people go in with size 16 boots on

^^Absolutely, I completely agree! Love that line.:D

Greetings and Salutations everyone!

How many of your bullshit meters would go off if you came across an opening line like that. Mine is highly attuned to those who try to use their writing as a way to impress. The literate ones among us (see previous troll topic for more discussion in those who aren't) can express ourselves full well without trying to be elegant. Sure, some have a better way with words than others, but don't waltz in here and try to write as if your Maya Angelou.

What's your bullshit meter attuned for?

If someone used that I would think that they were trying to be funny.

My bullshit meter is attuned for:
Bullshit: i.e. stories that aren't true, either personal or about sex, cock sizes/cockatars, pictures that look too good to be true in personal profiles or avatars. I don't call people out on it, it just makes my spidey senses all atingle.

Greetings and Salutations everyone!
That seriously fucks me off
What's your bullshit meter attuned for?

Bullshit meter kerchings for
Men pretending to be women; outlandish claims of sexual prowess; people who say 'research shows' or a 'recent report states' without citing their source - I always ask where they found the reference, but oddly few respond.

I try to be pleasant and respectful. My perviness messes it up sometimes.

I do my best to ignore trolls. Though, I've engaged with a couple from time to time.

Mine is atuned to bullshiters, liars, trolls and numptys :D

I'm not a fan of people who try too hard to impress.
Whether it's through their literacy skills, or using wit and
trying to "big themselves up" and/or trying to make themselves
look so "cool" that they end up just looking like total twats.
They can be so far up their own arse they can't smell their own....you know :D
I find that somewhat annoying and patronising.

I had to look up numpty because I had never seen that word before

Interesting definition
I like how it sounds too

Maybe I have never heard it cuz everyone is using it behind my back to describe me?
(scratches chin) mmmmmm

Ha, and you have quite the troll/numpty radar. lol

You bring a healthy perspective here . You always have. You're a young lady of class and maturity. I've always admired you.

Hehe it's my favourite word :)
Well, if your friends are Scottish they might be saying it :D
But it's used more as a term of endearment.

You are a sweetheart Ricky and a lovely friend :)
Thank you x

Then for sure you can apply it to ricky...that was a really nice comment he made
sure most would agree with him too

Hmm. A BullShitOMeter.

Most times, I just don't care. If I'm in a feistypissy mood, I might mess with them...that's when I look for my partner in crime. ;)

Ha....I often observe these people for awhile....just to see if they're being funny. Usually within a few posts or reading their profile I can tell if they're putting 'on airs' or just being comedic....
However...my bullshit meter....which is getting better....is now highly attuned to the 'I genuinely want to be your friend' poster (but if you can't get in my virtual pants in five pm's or less you'll feel compelled to tell me clearly I'm holding myself back and how you can help me:rolleyes:)
I also have no patience for people who blow smoke up everyone's ass hoping to get little bit further in their game.

Trolls: I fed one once.....at the defence of a sweet litster....got fobbed off....and let it be...lit seems to have a decent track record at making trolls disappear

There are so many trolls to choose from. I enjoy some, ignore others, and occasionally become a few.

Jihadist Troll: The most obvious of trolls. This troll enjoys tossing bombs into unsuspecting threads to witness the carnage. They enjoy seeing people frothing at the mouth and upset. Their goal is to ruin as many days as possible. No forum or subject is safe. They’re an indiscriminate killer. Beware their alts, they can look like anyone.

Bullshit-Calling Troll: This troll wanders the forums calling people out for their disingenuousness. They have a keen sense of smell and seem to be unable to allow people their delusions and excuses. Mostly, they just get tired of reading the same fake conversations by people looking for validation for their actions

Spurned-Lover Troll: This troll is an alt that has spent some time building up their post count before striking out at their target or trying to regain their place in line. They can come back as a male or female. This troll will use as many alts as it takes to accomplish their mission.

Thread-Starting Troll:
This troll wants controversy. They don’t always participate in the threads discussion, more of an instigator of arguments by asking “innocent” questions or posting “thought provoking” articles. This troll enjoys the drama.

Stalker Troll: This troll can’t let things go. One disagreement is enough for them to post stalk every chance they get and continue the argument. They’ll even become a Thread-Starting Troll to “out” their current obsession. This troll will find a new target after a few days or settle in the GB.

Self-Appointed Expert Troll: Name the subject, this troll has an opinion and isn’t afraid to inflict it upon you. They’re never wrong, never misinformed, and tend to call you ignorant and uneducated when you continue to call bullshit on their manifestos. If you have time to kill, they are an excellent source of free reading material.

Unaware Troll: This troll doesn’t even know they’re a troll. They simply think everyone else is the asshole. They are easily agitated by people doing exactly what they do and somehow got the impression the internet is for them and them alone. They will quickly inform you of your misdeeds and that you're ruining their experience.

I like this one...it reminds of Raylan Givens on Justified, "You ever hear of the saying "you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.""
