Okay everyone, this is a judgement free zone. So answer this question, did you watch Sharknado2 last night (apologies to the non-Yanks in the audience. Think tornado filled with sharks)? Which leads me to my topic, how do you handle a post that in the moment was what you wanted to say but upon reflection and time you wish you hadn't. Do you let it stand, as is? Do you go back and edit, and try to change it's meaning? Or do you delete completely?

No tv so no to sharknados! Did finally get a dtv antenna and realized i had left the control box in texas.
Usually don't edit posts.

Like it or not, August had arrived. For some the last throws off summer for others the hint of a new spring. Back to school and last minute summer vacations. Dog days and and the realization there's still time.

Where are you in your seasons of Lit. Life here ebbs and flows, meanders and has rapids. Is a waterfall ahead for your or are you enjoying slow pace of a lazy river?

August will be my disappearing act. Again. It's the time of year when I have to gear up for my busy season. So I guess, technically, I'm pulling into port? Docking my butt? Definitely packing my trunk....:D

Sorry to hear you're pulling into port. It's great to have you on the water, wet from the spray of all the fun you're having. And also, thanks for the quick CPR on the thread, I though maybe we'd reached the end of the internet.

Part of August will also be a very busy month for me as well, so I can relate .

Go do what you have to do ... but...
make sure you return young lady
Lit always needs doses of Ellafun to brighten the threads.
:rose:Have a great month Ella:rose:

I'm heading for a waterfall. Seriously. Like Niagara Falls. In the next few months my life is going to be way different.

I'll be happy to offer up mouth-to-mouth anytime! (I was going to type mouth-to-trunk but it sounded so dirty...;) )

August will hopefully be full of packing for me...less Lit time. Plus with the new kitten, very busy.

I am paddling out and just waiting patiently for that last big lit wave to appear...knowing there will be a lull before the winter swells arrive...

My lit season is in a sudden draught. That was originally out of necessity but now that I' m out of the loop I find I' m not sure I will jump back in when I am able. Famous last words I know. I think I am a bit disillusioned and down lately. Oh well, seasons always change, don' t they....this too shall pass.

And hopefully, when you are on the other side of it, you find yourself stronger and happier for it :rose::kiss::kiss:

I am just floating down a lazy river in the August California sun, enjoying the views and the sounds.

I find myself waning a bit here the past month or two. I've been on here a year now, and have posted enough pictures to call myself a certified attention whore. Now, I'm posting pictures here and there to keep my thread from the true death, but taking very few planned out sets like I used to.

I've hit a few slumps here before, but they always were short lived, and I rallied from them. This one is longer, and maybe I'll take a break for a bit. Or not. No idea what I'll decide.

Turn, turn, turn, I suppose.

Whatever you decide know you're appreciated here for being you; hope things will be good for you.

I  this post. Just sayin'.

My river is wide and crowded. Full of people bustling along on different size crafts - some big, some small, but always moving faster than me.

It's the same river it's always been, and that's fine;
Because I'm not distracted by the current, I'm basking in the dazzling glow of the sun.

*paddle*

This question had me thinking that as I delight in a few hints of Spring where I live, at present, my time here has similar emerging delights: enjoying the slow pace of a lazy river, bathed in filtered sunlight, taking in the reflections of life around me, thrilling over the rapids then dipping in to feel my body enveloped in cooling, calm waters.

However, this pales in comparison to the beautifully evocative response The Silver Lining posted in response to ChainedUp's poetic question, one which finally and thankfully refocussed the thread again.
....and then came the big yellow duck under Tower Bridge.

Whatever floats your boat. Thanks for the laugh.
Dare I say it quacked me up..:)

Happy Saturday everyone. Shirt and sweet this morning. What has been your biggest disappoint here at Lit. What one thing were you hoping for that hasn't come to fruition.

Feel free to continue to pay your response along any water way you'd like ;)

Hmmmm.... Like many here, I've been disappointed when someone I've felt a real connection with has misrepresented themself or vanished into thin air without a word. It's the internet though. I've learned to maintain my perspective.

The disappointment I describe above pales in comparison to the devastation I felt when my first "Cold, Hard & Shiny" thread was removed. That nearly broke my heart. :p

My perception of Lit Forums is that of a wild mountain creek. Everything is moving, it's teeming with various wildlife. It's a bit brisk when you first put your toes in, but you either warm up to the temperatures or put your shoes back on and ,"go home."

Frequently, I find the water gets warm and icky, but it's mostly due to the herd moving upstream. At those moments, I get out, wash up, and quietly sit on the bank and wait til whichever wildebeest shat the water moves along.

The water eventually clears back up, and I'll get in again.

Echoing Arianthe, people not being honest about who they are. I absolutely hate that.

It would be nice if forum sign up requirements included a series of qualifying questions. Which sections you're allowed to participate in would be dependent upon your answers.

This is going to seem so stupid... But about two years ago there was this thread that I was following. It was a story of jilted lovers and mistresses and hot sex and revenge. It was by far the most amazing thread I've ever read here.

Well, I was following this thread intently. In my mind, the characters in it were so hot. Like, the mistress was played by Olivia Wilde in sexy glasses, a pencil shirt and thigh highs with the seem up the back, the wife was played by Amanda Seyfried and the guy was Bradley Cooper. It was hot, in my mind.

Well, we were able to sneak a pic of the mistress. Well she looked like a mouse. :(

It was SO disappointing. I can't tell you how upsetting that was.

There hasn't been really anything that hasn't come to fruition because I don't really have any expectations. Or at least I didn't when I signed up. I came here from another sexy forum and it was more intimate because there were less people, but that board blew up one day (the owners decided they were a porn site and not a forum) and I lost contact with everyone on the forum.

The thing that I'm most disappointed about is the way some people are able to drive people away from the board. I guess that is something that the people who are driven away would probably just leave anyway. I've lost some good friends here that way.
