I do apologize though. I tried to keep them from having meaningful discussions and fun. It was everything I could do but the peasants seemed to be enjoying themselves. I don't know what to do with that. *sigh*

Rules of ruling:
A peasant that is not revolting is a good peasant.

Now that Chained is back, I'm sure he will be invoking prima nocta. So, all the virgins need to raise their hands. Virgins? Hello? Bueller?

*crickets*
*tumbleweed*

Good luck Chained. I tried to find you some love, but no luck.

Rules of ruling:

If—
By Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

You can keep the virgins. Experienced riders only.

While those are all excellent suggestions, let's consult the historical manuscripts on how to be the king of England:

Selecting an advisor: 'Choose men also of old experience. Their wit and intellect is glorious. Beware of young counsel; it is perilous.'

The Remedy for a stomach ache: 'Clasp a hot and beautiful maiden or to place upon your belly a wide warm shirt.'

When asking for advice: 'Beware flattery and beware also the greedy - they are both so desirous of gold they do not care what difficulty their lord is in, as long as they might amass gold and silver.'

How to choose a wife: 'Beautiful in appearance, descended from noble family, well-appointed in limbs, having an agreeable expression and an entire body well-adorned. You may have a majestic wife with whom you may have sex as often as, and when, you wish.'

This is quite impressive.

What a shame that we don't reflect this in the U.S.

What are your top five songs of all time and why? What is it about them you love? Does it remind you of someone?

Absolutely impossible to pick 5...No room for Petty, Beatles, Stones, Willie, Springsteen, Dylan, B.B., Hendrix, The Band, Floyd, Santana, Peter Green, Talking Heads, Kinks, Niel Young, Hank, Zappa, Doors, CCR, Norah, Hiatt, Police, or the Who? Darn.

*falls in love :heart:

i just tried to do this. i can't pick 5. 'tis simply impossible. and it varies by the hour. sometimes by the minute.

Tis true that when I scampered off, no one was appointed caretaker of the place. Pmann assumed the role, and the people, well didn't necessarily follow but also didn't overthrow him. This period, which, shall be known as the "Reign of P", is over. P's reign allowed the room live and breathe in ways it would not have. I thank Pmann for that. Good or bad, I'll pass no judgement. The crown can stay with P, as he discovered, wearing the crown doesn't make you a leader, the people must follow.

But I contend I never was the leader/ruler/whatever of this place, just a guy that put topics out for discussion and then let you all carry the room. Sure, from time to time, the train would need to be put back on the track and I was more than happy to do so.

I expect normal programming to resume tomorrow.

SO glad to have you back. I know how much you just love PDA so I will keep it to a minimum.

Hooray, Chained is back! :kiss:

That means I have to unlearn my pmannese and refresh my chainese.

:kiss: on your crown, Pmann.

Fawning or spawning?.....lol
I'm absolutely positive there were some that enjoyed the direction Pmann was guiding the ship. I'm sure there are some that thought it might have been better with Pmann. I just want to take it back to more of its roots. Your loyalty to your man is duly noted ;)

We must have been reading different threads. I think you'll find the people followed with glee and abandon. The pLeadership was most well received. One could even say the masses were fawning.

No sourpuss status here. I gave him credit for keeping it going, thanked him for his service. Just need to put things back in place where I had them pre-break. I'm anal like that. :)

No, not loyalty just credit where credits due. :p. I'd hate for the re-reigning King to get back onto the throne looking like a sourpuss.

Woe is the person who would evah want to contain you.

Umm. Your antics, that is.

Ahem. I was allowed to have a moment of PDA. I fired up my flamethrower on Chained's ass. That was a moment of pure affection. :D

Ah, but that was a Pyromaniac Display of Affection.

The rule still stands.

As for RA, her antics are always welcome at any time. :rose:
