Yes, it was the same time. If there was ever a time in my life when I truly needed someone to validate me, it was then. You gave that gift to me. Thank you. You are a wonderful person, Des. I am so very glad to know you.

I don't go back much there either.

Less tolerant of fools, aye? That's funny. I would like to think I have become more tolerant from that experience, but in reality, probably just more evasive. My reaction there was one of a very, very sensitive woman. That does not bode well in a big world full of meanies.

 Oh, that's so lovely - thank you! And you give me far too much credit - as I recall we both got into an argument with some rather intolerant people there and afterwards I sent you a PM saying, essentially, not to let the bastards get you down, and that I agreed with your points. That it meant so much to you is honestly humbling. And I think that makes you the wonderful one.

To be honest, I think our differing reactions are typical of our different places on the D/s spectrum. I didn't feel threatened, because such a reaction might have implied that I was in the wrong! I just felt annoyed at the intolerance from so many people who seemed to be well respected.

Thank you, Mr. Des Esseintes. You're too kind. *hugs*

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, be you American or not. May today remind us of all that we have is but a gift to be cherished and may we all be thankful, grateful, and respectful all the days of our lives.

Very nice.
peace and love to all.

The only thing that I would add is, let's be thankful for each other, all of us here - and the contributions they make to our appreciation for relationships and experiences. So friends, the ones I know and the ones I've yet to meet, a Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Black Friday. How we Americans love our titles but hate being categorized. There's so much public indignation at the early shopping and deals yet we all love them.

What Lit characterization bothers you the most? Maybe it's that guys love showing their junk to anyone. Mayber it's the word gamers that love to tease. Share a characterization and why you disagree with it.

Hmmm the only one Ican think of is trolls, but I agree wholeheartedly with it, so I' m afraid I got nothin today. Now excuse me while I battle these crowds at the mall

I really dislike how the different forums are categorized. When I first joined I hung out on one particular board. There would be the occasional reference to other forums, often mildly (occasionally not so mildly) derogatory. It didn’t take long before I got the picture. Playgrounders are frivolous, the General Board are jerks, Personal people are deluded, etc., etc., etc.

That...aggravates me. I get how it happens, I’m even guilty of that type of thing myself, possibly one of the reason it bothers me so much. But I still don’t like it. It smacks of intolerance. And it’s limiting, considering the posters I find most interesting hail from all over the board.

My interests are eclectic. I like my people that way too. :)

*FYI. There is no deal delectable enough to lure me into the Black Friday crowds.

I can't think of any other than those you and purr mentioned. I agree with her, trolls are trolls. Its accurate, but that's because one isn't christened with the title unless they exhibit the characteristics. As for junk pics, I've only gotten a few and they were from trolls, so the rumor that all guys love to send them is untrue.

Word gamers love to tease? You say that like its a bad thing. ;)

There is no deal good enough in my head to justify shopping with hordes of people at ungodly hours. No, all people don't love them.

Characterizing forums into stereotypes irks me at times. 'Nice' people belong on the PG, 'jerks' belong on the general board. I've seen both on both boards.

I don't like to be thrown into a category of "not being real" because I'm here. I'm real, and have met others online that were quite real.

Your "Black Friday" even made it on the news here tonight.

I think Lit is a bit like it somedays!

Saunters in, fresh from "other duties as sssigned". Even Chainey should get one day a week to sleep in, tired from a long week of thread policing ;)

I've been told that some people may not like this thread because it requires thinking and coherentness that isn't usually needed on many threads. While never my intention(as I figured people would just go with their first reaction), i do find it flattering that those that stop by provide more than a surface response. And I suspect many a person has benefitted from showcasing their intelligence

I'm also curious about those that stop by, read, and move along. Most I trust, read, enjoy, and move on. while there are also some that think we're a bunch of pompous asses.

So this is amnesty Saturday. For those that read but don't post, please post today. Tell us what you like or don't like about the thread. Would love to hear from you. 261 have answered the poll, and I'm guessing many have not.

I look forward to hearing from everyone today, the table is open.....

The old guys who bitch at each other so much: a times it can be quite funny but then I think ... how sad

bit like this overly long Muppet vid

Sattler & Waldorf! The loveliest grumpy men on the world.

It might be Chained saw them when he sauntered in and now is afraid they'll comment on him when he posts his question of the day?

*Edits to make her excuses to Chained!* We posted at the same time, I was just responding to the posts I thought would be directly above me ...

Really? There are people that don’t like the thread? I like starting the day with a question. Though I seriously doubt I “showcase” much intelligence.

Case in point. Sometime back I agreed to go to a wedding dress trunk show with a friend today, not realizing it was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I’ve been up since 5:00, unable to sleep, contemplating the horror that awaits me. :(

I’m loosely translating amnesty to mean free-for-all. :D
