That's exactly why I'm in two minds about the name. I wasn't intending it to sound pervy, except perhaps in a light-hearted way. As you say, there may be an unwanted nuance to it for some people -- but I couldn't identify a better verb to select at the time.
.

How about Mindgroper? Or Mindrapist?

Quotey thing ...Mine is a name I stole from some Nigerian scammer. He was trying to scam me for my money and his last name was Polmann. I just found that name funny, so I adopted a shorter version of it. Plus, it's easy to say, "Yo pmann, you're a stand up fella'!" Or something like that...end quotes thing

That's ridiculous :D made me laugh xx

Oddly enough, neither of those options featured on my shortlist. It's almost as if I didn't want to go in that direction. ;) :D

It made me chuckle too, not least due to the problems that I had with wandering accent syndrome as I tried to imagine someone saying ""Yo pmann, you're a stand up fella'!". That's probably just me. :)

I have a question of the day:

Do you certain threads that you check out first when you get on lit? What happens if no one has posted on them? Do you troll? Log off and come back later? Try to get something started on them?

Huh. I know some people have posted their checking-of-the-posts-routine, but I never really gave it that much thought.
Log into Lit (usually jumps straight to the playground because i'm the only one who uses this laptop), then i select new posts and just end up wherever.
I don't think I've ever used my subscribed posts thingymajig.

Here's a new question: How did you pick your name for Lit?

For me it was getting close to winter and the wind was picking up and we would be getting snow soon... I know, not exciting at all, lol

It was meant to be ironic. :D

Good morning everyone, chained is still a no show so trying something different....

This is not really a question, more of a challenge: Make a difference, in a positive way, in someones day!

For example you cold help an older person who seems to be struggling; smile and encourage someone who is having a bad day...see the results you get back, how do they make you feel?

I think that's a nice thought. Sometimes, we do need to be reminded to be kind.
Thanks Breezy! :rose:

Where I live at this time of year we have a lot of "summer people". They are people who live in big cities and have lots of money. A lot of them think others should bow down to them, they make it difficult to be nice to them, but I am guessing they need niceness the most. I will be doing that at work this afternoon.

I try to do that every day. It feels good to know you made someone smile :)

I love this idea Breezy. One of my favorite quotes goes something like this:

"Be kinder than you think necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle"

Thanks makinmepurr, I had no idea what question to ask, not as good at it as Chained is. Figured this was something everyone could do and then comment on afterwards! :D

I hope Chained gets back soon! I have no questions or comments to respond to for today. Thank you to the few who actually posted to my stuff, I really appreciate it. I know they weren't to Chained's level but at least I tried and your responses made me feel good! Thanks again!

I rarely comment here because it is often so busy. I do try to read up though and I think <for what my opinion is worth - soft smile> you've done a wonderful job of making people think for the better :)

Sometimes it is better to be kind and do for others, than to sit and complain how awful everything is. It makes you feel like smiling inside rather than raging against things that are often beyond our control e.g someone's personality or idiosyncracies.

I loved the post with the words from Mother Theresa too :)

Keep smiling Breezy Snow :) It'll make people wonder what you've been up to ;)

I appreciate the kind words, thanks so much sweetsauce! I just wish I was able to come up with some good questions like Chained does, but that is not how my mind works. I answer questions and find solutions, but if any do pop into my mind I will post them if Chained is still gone. Thanks again. :D <--smiling, lol

Okay, someone suggested a question so here it goes...

Have you ever helped someone who is on Lit with a r/l problem? Has anyone on Lit ever helped you with a r/l problem?

I have to say I have been helped at times by a few on here, some aware they have helped and others not aware. With my life lately I start to fall into a depression at times and usually I can get myself out of it within a day, but lately it has been harder. People on here have helped by either reading some of the things they have posted, a phone call or even a PM... there are a lot of great people on here and I am thankful for all of them!

Two Litsters have helped me with real life problems. One over coffee and some booze. The other online and in a more profound and meaningful way than probably anyone in my real world ever has.

This one here has helped me with a real life problem: thank you LS

As for myself: I have listened and talked with people sharing problems but I don't know if I have been as helpful as I wanted to be

Strolls in. The place looks to be in decent shape. Thanks for keeping the windows open, letting knew ideas to flow in and not get stale.

Now, get your cakes, asses, and boobs back in here ;)

yes, and yes. Some friends here are trusted enough that they spill over into my "real life" so I think that's bound to happen. We talk and maintain close friendships like I would with any of my friends not from here.

good to see you back, Chained. :)
