Ducks in quickly. We all have a slightly different personality here in Litiquette-ville than in RL. WoUld you rather be who you are here or who you are in RL, and why?

I am the same person either way. I may type things here that I can't say in certain situations in RL, but that is about it.

What Breezy said, and I am a bit less shy online in the sense I don't wonder as much if the impression I make on someone else is the 'right' one.

Well, I would rather be who I am in real life. Although I am very much myself here in terms of personality, I use the "bad kitty" persona as an outlet and play that up on the threads. It's so fun to be an outrageous flirt, let out my sexually playful side, and tease the heck out of everyone. It' s very therapeutic and freeing for me. I laughed out loud imagining being Purr in real world contexts....like something out of a bad movie.

I certainly tend to be more confident here in this anonymous universe, and I wouldn't mind a little more of that in real life.

I have a few slightly varying personas just here on Lit - I'm a little more upbeat and flirty on my own thread and in AmPics in general, and tend to be more serious over here. They're all "me" and who I am, but sometimes just weighted more heavily to one aspect of my personality or another.

SO, to answer the question, other than having a little more confidence, I'm good with my RL personality.

There's a few folks from here who know me in RL. I'm pretty much what you see here. :)

Oh boy am I late on today's topic. You'd think I had a real life or something. Lol

It's raining and drizzly out and it brings down my mood a little. Does lot impact your mood. Does what you do here carry with you or can you compartmentalize and leave it all here?

It depends. I can usually compartmentalize a lot of what I do here, especially the stuff that makes me feel the most guilt. But, it's the emotional stuff that comes up sometimes that I can't always shake off, ie, if I've had a "break up" with a friend here - that certainly carries over into real life.

And rain never brings my mood down, but it rarely rains here. ;)

The rain rarely affects my mood, unless I have to walk through it without a waterproof. Luckily, that doesn't seem to happen very often.

I'm very poor at compartmentalizing (is that really a verb? ;)). Events in Lit-space certainly can and do affect my mood in real life. I can keep them in proportion when necessary, but I'm not someone who is able to regard online life as completely disconnected from reality. Indeed, I feel the ongoing pain of Lit friends with long-term problems, and I revel in the triumphs of others beyond my enjoyment of the postings that express those. It wouldn't make any sense to me to experience these only as transient emotions that cease as soon as I log off.
.

I don't do enough here for it to affect my mood, but I've walked away laughing or horny so far.

I do compartmentalize in a way: in RL as on Lit I encounter things which I can't take with me everywhere. There are times for joy, and times for seriousness and times where joy (and/or sadness) shouldn't cross over into RL-seriousness.

Days of rain (or fog! Fog is worse than rain!), one after the other do affect my mood though.

Lit certainly can impact my mood. If it's something that some mouth-breathing cockwallet says to me, that stays here. But if it's an interaction with someone who is part of my life, of course it moves me.

Lmao, "mouthbreathing cockwallet".
I agree with you. The things that stay with me the most are those "real-life" moments, which happen way more often than I would have expected.

It's not often, for me, that someone really gets deep into who I really am. But I met the absolute best friend I could ever have here on this site and the Lit part of it doesn't even register with me anymore. She's not a Lit friend. She's my best friend.

I'm truly grateful for this site.

I think I know what you mean. Many times, Lit friends have said something so perceptive, profound or incisive to me that I imagine they must know me in real life. Perhaps it's simply that many of the people who frequent this site are blessed with perspicacity that's considerably above average.

Sincerely, I find it lovely to hear that! :)

I agree with purr...many times people talk about things going on in their real lives- birth, death, sickness, love found and lost, and it does touch me, because it's the "real side" of the folks here. The BS and drama and douchebaggery, on the other hand, I just take as part of the entertainment value of the place. ;)

I'm going to keep the paint as it is. I like the color and it has a nice, worn yet comfortable feel to it. Speaking of comfortable feelings, what percent of Lit content makes you uncomfortable? Whether it's objectionable, inappropriate, or beyond your kink limits, I'm curious. For me , it's only 1-2%. There is a lot that doesn't interest me but very little that makes me uncomfortable.

I agree. There is a lot I don't care for, but not much that I am put off by. In fact, I'm good with nearly everything except non-consent. I don't like it even in fantasy as I feel it fosters an inherently dubious nature.

Oh, and I could do without the cock av. I put most of those on ignore.

There are some things going on over in the fetish neighborhood that put me off. But, I never really go over there, and anyway to each their own. As far as what I encounter on most of the site, I am fine with it, in theory at least. Heck, I' ve even discovered new turn-ons that surprised me. So, I keep my mind wide open.

It's Friday and the mind is wandering off to those naughty places I'd rather be. I can't be the only one, can I? (Not a request for naughty PMs, truly just curious if I was the only one guilty of a wandering mind)
